The Manager of Talent Acquisition is a hands-on people leader responsible for the day-to-day leadership and execution of talent acquisition across Swope Health and PACE KC. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this position leads two Talent Acquisition team members while maintaining an active portfolio of open positions and personally recruiting for priority, complex, hard-to-fill, professional, and leadership roles.
This role is responsible for keeping the recruitment function moving while continuously strengthening how Swope Health attracts, engages, selects, and hires talent. A significant portion of the Manager's work is focused on proactive sourcing, pipeline development, community and workforce partnerships, and direct candidate engagement, particularly for critical healthcare and difficult-to-fill positions.
The Manager partners closely with hiring leaders, Human Resources, and the Vice President of Human Resources to establish consistent recruiting practices, improve the candidate and hiring manager experience, monitor recruitment performance, and strengthen the connection between selection quality and associate retention.
The successful candidate will balance people leadership, hands-on recruiting, sourcing, relationship building, operational discipline, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for a recruiting leader who enjoys building systems and developing people while remaining actively connected to candidates and the recruiting marketplace
What You Will Do:
Lead, coach, develop, and manage the Talent Acquisition team while helping set daily priorities and recruiting assignments.
Personally manage approximately 15–20 priority, complex, professional, management, and hard-to-fill requisitions.
Source and engage active and passive candidates through direct outreach, professional networks, sourcing tools, referrals, social platforms, and community connections.
Build long-term pipelines for critical healthcare and operational talent, including nursing, medical assistants, providers, behavioral health professionals, social workers, leaders, and other difficult-to-fill roles.
Develop relationships with colleges, training programs, workforce organizations, professional associations, and community partners.
Partner with hiring managers on intake, recruiting strategy, candidate assessment, interview processes, offers, and candidate communication.
In partnership with the Vice President of Human Resources, strengthen TA workflows, SOPs, service expectations, metrics, reporting, technology, and selection practices.
Use recruiting data and market insight to identify barriers, aging positions, sourcing gaps, and opportunities to improve hiring outcomes.
Partner with the Vice President of Human Resources on recruitment agencies, sourcing platforms, and other external recruiting resources.
Represent Swope Health and PACE KC at career fairs, recruiting events, professional meetings, and community outreach opportunities.
Successful Candidates Will Have:

Recruiting Coordinator Jobs in Kansas City: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a recruiting coordinator job in Kansas City?
Focus on Kansas City's largest hiring sectors: healthcare systems, financial services firms, and the city's growing logistics and distribution network. Jobs concentrate Downtown, in the Plaza area, and in suburban office parks in Overland Park and Lenexa just across the state line. Candidates who can demonstrate ATS proficiency, scheduling coordination, and high-volume support experience stand out most with local employers.
Which companies hire recruiting coordinators in Kansas City?
Companies currently hiring recruiting coordinators in Kansas City include Urban Summit, JR &, and Airspace, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Kansas City's mix of large regional health systems, insurance carriers, and distribution-focused corporations drives consistent year-round demand for this role.
Are there remote recruiting coordinator jobs in Kansas City?
Yes, though availability depends on the role since positions tied to on-site interviews, badge coordination, or candidate logistics tend to require in-office presence. About 57% of recruiting coordinator openings tied to Kansas City are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the highest concentration among corporate TA teams in financial services and tech. Scheduling and administrative coordination tasks are most commonly done remotely.
How can I get a recruiting coordinator job in Kansas City with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Kansas City is through HR assistant or administrative coordinator roles at the city's large healthcare systems and insurance firms, where internal mobility into recruiting coordination is common.
