Registered Behavior Technician Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a registered behavior technician in Georgia?
To become a registered behavior technician in Georgia, you must earn certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, which administers the national RBT credential that Georgia employers recognize. The path requires a high school diploma, completion of the BACB's 40-hour training curriculum, a competency assessment supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and passing the RBT examination. Georgia does not issue a separate state license, so the BACB credential is the recognized standard for employment.
Which companies hire registered behavior technicians in Georgia?
Companies currently hiring registered behavior technicians in Georgia include Centria Healthcare, Heartlinks ABA, and Blue Gems ABA, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's dense network of Medicaid waiver providers and school-contracted ABA agencies creates consistent openings across both the Atlanta metro and mid-size cities statewide.
Which Georgia cities have the most registered behavior technician jobs?
The cities with the most registered behavior technician openings in Georgia are Atlanta, Lawrenceville, and Duluth. Atlanta dominates because of the concentration of large ABA provider networks, hospital-affiliated autism centers like Marcus Autism Center, and the sheer size of the metro's school system, while Augusta and Savannah reflect regional growth in Medicaid home-based services and expanding suburban school contracts in those corridors.
Are there remote registered behavior technician jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they're rare. Registered behavior technician work is fundamentally hands-on, requiring direct, in-person support with clients in homes, clinics, or schools, so remote opportunities are limited by the nature of the role. About 11% of registered behavior technician openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and the positions that do allow remote work are typically limited to caregiver training sessions, data review, or telehealth-adjacent consultation duties.
How can I get hired as a registered behavior technician in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Georgia is applying to RBT trainee or behavioral health technician roles at large ABA providers that run their own 40-hour onboarding, such as Centria Autism or Trumpet Behavioral Health, which regularly hire candidates without prior ABA experience and provide supervised training toward BACB certification. Georgia's school systems also hire paraprofessionals and special education aides as a lateral entry point, since that classroom experience translates directly to RBT caseloads. Completing the BACB's 40-hour training independently before applying, and obtaining a current CPR certification, gives candidates a competitive edge even without hands-on ABA history.
Where can I find and apply to registered behavior technician jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to registered behavior technician jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings from providers, school systems, and ABA agencies across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your credentials and location, then apply directly to the employers that fit.
