Registered Behavior Technician Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a registered behavior technician in Mississippi?
To become a registered behavior technician in Mississippi, you must complete a forty-hour training program aligned with the RBT Task List, pass the RBT competency assessment conducted by a qualified supervisor, and then pass the RBT exam administered by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Mississippi does not have a separate state license for RBTs, so the BACB credential is the recognized standard employers require. Most applicants complete training through their hiring employer.
Which companies hire registered behavior technicians in Mississippi?
Companies currently hiring registered behavior technicians in Mississippi include Colorful Minds, Garden of Genius ABA, and Shining Starz ABA, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Mississippi's network of community mental health centers and autism-focused therapy practices also generates consistent RBT openings across the state's rural and suburban regions.
Which Mississippi cities have the most registered behavior technician jobs?
The cities with the most registered behavior technician openings in Mississippi are Madison, Ridgeland, and Clarksdale. Jackson's concentration of medical, behavioral health, and school district employers drives most of the volume, while Gulfport and Hattiesburg see strong demand from regional therapy practices and public school systems that contract ABA services for students with autism spectrum disorder.
Are there remote registered behavior technician jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, but they're rare. Registered behavior technician work is fundamentally hands-on, requiring direct in-person interaction with clients to implement ABA programming, so fully remote positions are uncommon. About 0% of registered behavior technician openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, which typically reflects telehealth parent training or supervision support roles rather than direct client work.
How can I get hired as a registered behavior technician in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to autism therapy providers and community mental health centers that offer paid on-the-job RBT training, since many Mississippi employers hire candidates without prior experience and cover the required forty-hour training and BACB exam fees. Providers affiliated with Mississippi Department of Mental Health community support programs frequently recruit entry-level applicants. Having a background in childcare, special education paraprofessional work, or direct support professional roles strengthens your application considerably and is common among candidates who get hired quickly.
Where can I find and apply to registered behavior technician jobs in Mississippi?
