Job Title: RN Lactation Consultant (Local & Travel Assignment) – Cambridge, MA
Location: Cambridge
Job Type: Full-Time | Local & Travel Assignments Available
Shift: Day Shift (40 hours/week)
Pay: $2,480/week
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Lactation Consultant to support new mothers and families in a hospital-based setting in Cambridge, MA. This role focuses on providing expert breastfeeding education, clinical lactation support, and patient-centered care to improve maternal and newborn outcomes.
Both local candidates and travel nurses are encouraged to apply.
Job Details Please do not apply unless you have at least 1-2 years of RN lactation experience
- 32 hours: 8-8hr days (be sure candidate agreeable) EOW and EOH
- Position is for RN-IBCLC or CLC. Must be certified
- BLS / NRP and CLC or IBCLC certification required
- 1-2 yrs Lactation RN experience
- EMR Exp Required (or preferred): EPIC
- Must document travel experience. (at least one prior travel exp. preferred)
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive lactation assessments for postpartum mothers, including evaluating breastfeeding techniques and addressing challenges.
- Develop personalized care plans that incorporate physiology knowledge, anatomy, and nutrition principles to support optimal breastfeeding practices.
- Provide hands-on guidance and education to mothers on breastfeeding techniques, nipple care, and infant feeding cues through in-person consultations and virtual sessions.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, dietitians, and public health professionals to coordinate maternal and neonatal care strategies.
- Lead educational presentations and public speaking engagements on breastfeeding benefits, maternal health topics, and neonatal resuscitation procedures for community groups or hospital staff.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems to document patient interactions accurately, track progress, and analyze data for quality improvement initiatives.
- Support multilingual patients by offering bilingual services or coordinating with interpreters to ensure clear communication and culturally sensitive care.
