American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position in New Jersey, requiring 1.5+ years of acute care OR experience with the ability to circulate and open heart case experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) setting
- Adult open heart cases are the primary focus, with general OR cases when cardiac cases are not scheduled
- For Main OR coverage: ortho, vascular, general, thoracic, and neuro experience is required
- Must be able to circulate; scrub experience is preferred but not required
- Uses Epic EMR
- 13-week contract
- 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required
- On-call required twice per week and every third weekend
- Holiday coverage required per unit policy (1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays)
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1.5 years of current acute care OR experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two current professional references required
- Skills checklist specific to CVOR (Scrub and Circulate) required for consideration

- Scrubs are provided
- Local candidates are accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; requests made after an offer will not be accommodated
- Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
