INTRODUCTION
GE Vernova is seeking a dynamic and visionary Senior Director to lead our Commercial & Regulatory Services function within the Product Cybersecurity organization. This high-impact, HQ-based role serves as the connective tissue between GE Vernova’s diverse business units and the rapidly evolving landscape of cybersecurity commercial obligations, customer-facing requirements, and global regulatory mandates.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cybersecurity contracting and compliance, a strategic command of the emerging regulatory environment, and an explicitly AI-forward mindset. This leader will be expected to actively identify and deploy intelligent tooling, automation, and AI-enabled workflows to reduce friction in customer engagements, accelerate business unit regulatory readiness, and position GE Vernova as a cybersecurity-trusted partner across every sector we serve. Embracing AI is not optional in this role — it is a core competency and a strategic imperative.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial Services
- Lead the strategy and response for complex customer cybersecurity contract proposals (MSAs, SOWs, and RFPs).
- Serve as the authoritative voice in contract negotiations, balancing risk, liability, and market competitiveness.
- Deploy AI-assisted tools to automate and accelerate responses to security questionnaires, contract reviews, and risk analyses.
- Partner with Legal, Finance, and Sales to align cybersecurity contract positions with deal strategy.
Regulatory Readiness
- Monitor and interpret global cybersecurity regulations (NIS2, NERC CIP, IEC 62443, EU CRA, etc.) into actionable business guidance.
- Design and operationalize a regulatory readiness framework, helping business units assess gaps and build remediation roadmaps.
- Utilize AI-enabled tools for continuous gap analysis and prioritized compliance reporting.
- Represent GE Vernova’s cybersecurity regulatory perspective in industry and government forums.
Cross-Business Unit Enablement
- Act as the HQ liaison for commercial and regulatory matters, ensuring a consistent enterprise security posture.
- Harmonize cybersecurity obligations across business units for shared customers to reduce conflict and duplication.
- Build intelligent knowledge management systems and AI-augmented tools to empower business units to self-serve.
- Establish governance and escalation paths to ensure all engagements align with enterprise policy.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, focusing on commercial, regulatory, or policy-facing roles.
- Proven track record managing cybersecurity contract negotiations in industrial, energy, or critical infrastructure.
- Deep expertise in energy-sector regulatory frameworks (e.g., IEC 62443, NERC CIP, NIS2, EU CRA).
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to distill complex technical/legal concepts for executive audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management skills in a global, matrixed organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, legal, or related discipline.
Preferred
- Enterprise-level experience in the energy, utilities, or industrial technology sectors.
- Practical experience applying AI/ML tools to compliance and knowledge management workflows.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC).
- Advanced degree (JD, MBA, or Master’s).
- Experience building and scaling commercial cybersecurity programs from the ground up.

Tips for Your Remote Commercial Director Job Search
Quantify revenue impact on your resume
Commercial directors are hired to grow revenue, so your resume needs dollar figures and percentages attached to outcomes. Replace phrases like 'led sales team' with the pipeline value you managed or the year-over-year growth you delivered.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists commercial director openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Tailor your materials to company stage
A commercial director role at a Series B startup looks nothing like one at a Fortune 500. Early-stage postings want someone who can build go-to-market from scratch, so swap out enterprise process language for examples of building pipelines with limited resources.
Target industries where your deals closed
Commercial director hiring managers want someone who already understands their buyer's procurement cycle and objections. Filter your search by the industries where you've closed deals, not just the largest companies, to find openings where your experience translates fastest.
Prepare a commercial narrative for interviews
Interviewers at this level expect you to walk them through a deal from origination to close, including how you handled stalled negotiations or changed your pricing strategy mid-cycle. Prepare two or three deal stories with specific stakes and decisions, not just outcomes.
Negotiate scope before you negotiate compensation
Before discussing pay, clarify the budget authority you'll hold, the team size, and whether the role owns marketing as well as sales. A commercial director title with limited P&L control has a very different ceiling than one with full revenue ownership.
Remote Commercial Director Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote commercial director job?
Target companies that already run distributed teams, since they hire remotely by default and know how to onboard someone they never meet in person. Remote commercial director employers screen hard for self-direction and clear written communication on top of the core skills, so show evidence you can own work without someone over your shoulder. Apply to the openings above that match your experience.
Which companies hire remote commercial directors?
Employers currently hiring remote commercial directors include Glory Global Solutions, GEICO, and Gartner, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Remote-first firms and large companies running distributed teams post the most remote commercial director roles.
Can you get a remote commercial director job with no experience?
Yes, but it is harder than an on-site role, because remote work expects you to operate independently from the start. Entry-level remote commercial director openings do exist, especially at remote-first companies, and a portfolio of real work helps more than a long resume. Applying broadly to the roles that fit improves your odds.
Do you need a degree for remote commercial director jobs?
Not always. Many employers hire remote commercial directors on demonstrated skills and prior work rather than a specific degree, though some larger companies still prefer one. Showing relevant results matters more than a credential for most remote commercial director roles.
Which industries hire the most remote commercial directors?
Remote commercial director roles concentrate in Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, Manufacturing, and Technology & Software, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors run distributed teams and hire commercial directors remotely most consistently.
