Company: Human Data Labs
Job Type: Contract / Project-Based
Location: Remote – United States
Project Duration: Approximately 2 weeks
About the Project
Human Data Labs is looking for US-based operations managers and other working professionals to participate in a short-term paid financial data project.
This is a project-based data opportunity, not a traditional Operations Manager position. We're looking for working professionals who regularly use multiple personal financial apps and services and can accurately follow a structured data export and privacy process.
What You'll Do
Export data from financial apps and services you personally use.
Provide data from at least 1 service in each of the 5 mandatory categories:
Banking & Neobanks
Credit Cards
Payments, P2P & Wallets
Credit Score & Identity
Tax Filing
Provide exports from at least 2 additional eligible financial apps/services, bringing your submission to a minimum of 7 apps/services total.
Submit 2 self-created financial artifacts, such as budget spreadsheets, tax workbooks, or net-worth/debt trackers.
Use the provided PII-redaction tool to remove personal and banking identifiers on your own device before uploading your files.
Follow project instructions to ensure your exports cover matching time periods and meet recency and quality requirements.
Review and resubmit files if they are returned for rework during the quality review process.
Who We're Looking For
You must be 18 years of age or older.
You must be a US resident.
You must have a regular earning stream.
You should be an experienced working professional.
You must currently use financial services across all 5 mandatory categories.
You must use at least 2 additional qualifying financial apps/services.
You must be comfortable downloading and exporting data from your own accounts.
You must be able to follow detailed instructions and data submission requirements.
You should have strong attention to detail and be able to complete submissions accurately.
You must be comfortable using a provided tool to redact personally identifiable information before submission.
You must be able to complete the project within the required timeline.
Privacy & Data Security
Protecting your information is an important part of this project.
PII redaction takes place on your own device.
Raw exported files do not leave your device.
Personal and banking identifiers are removed before files are uploaded.
Account credentials and live financial data feeds are not collected.
Submissions go through automated quality checks and a final human review.
Data that does not receive Final Approval is not used and is deleted, with a Certificate of Destruction issued.
Only approved, anonymized datasets are used for the licensed program in accordance with your consent.
Success in This Project
To complete the project, your dataset must include:
1 eligible service from each of the 5 mandatory financial categories
At least 2 additional eligible financial apps/services
At least 7 apps/services total
2 self-created financial artifacts
Recent, real financial data that meets the project's requirements
Historical data covering the required project period
Matching time periods across your financial app/service exports
Successful completion of the project's quality checks and Final Approval
Strong participants follow the project instructions carefully, provide complete and accurate exports, properly redact their information before uploading, and respond promptly if any files need to be corrected or resubmitted.
Note for us internally: I'm deliberately keeping the historical-data bullet as “covering the required project period” for now. The source document says the newest transaction must be within 60 days, and history should be provided “as held,” typically 1–7 years, but it does not establish the 12-month vs. 2-year minimum you were discussing.

Tips for Your Remote Operations Project Manager Job Search
Show async project management in your resume
Remote employers want evidence you can keep projects on track without real-time check-ins. Highlight experience managing cross-functional work through async tools like Asana, Monday.com, or Confluence, and name the outcomes you delivered, not just the responsibilities you held.
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote operations project manager openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your background and apply directly. Remote postings at distributed companies often fill faster than office-based ones, so applying the day a role goes live matters.
Build a written communication sample
Remote operations project managers communicate almost entirely through writing. Prepare a short sample, like a project status update or a process improvement memo, that you can share during screening. It signals you can keep distributed teams aligned without constant meetings.
Target companies with existing remote infrastructure
Remote-first companies and those with distributed engineering or product teams already have the tooling, norms, and management practices that make remote operations roles work. Prioritize these employers over companies that went remote reluctantly, where the role may still be built around in-office assumptions.
Remote Operations Project Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote operations project manager job?
Target companies that already run distributed teams, since they have established workflows for remote operations roles and know how to onboard managers without in-person oversight. Remote employers screen heavily for written communication, async collaboration, and self-directed problem-solving. Candidates who can show experience managing cross-functional projects through tools like Jira, Asana, or Confluence, and who can demonstrate results without needing real-time check-ins, move to the top of the pile.
Which companies hire remote operations project managers?
Companies hiring remote operations project managers right now include UGI, Amgen, and BLOOM, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Remote-first technology firms, distributed SaaS companies, and large enterprises with geographically spread operations teams are among the most consistent employers for this role.
Can you get a remote operations project manager job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level operations project manager roles are harder to land because employers expect you to work independently from day one, without the informal mentorship that comes from being in an office. Smaller remote-first companies and startups are more open to candidates without a long resume. Showing a portfolio of process improvements, volunteer project coordination, or certifications like CAPM or PMP can substitute for direct experience.
Do you need a degree for remote operations project manager jobs?
Not always. Remote employers hiring operations project managers pay close attention to demonstrated results: documented process improvements, project outcomes, and hands-on experience with operations tools carry real weight. A degree helps with larger enterprises that use it as a filtering criterion, but many remote-first companies prioritize project management certifications, async communication skills, and a record of delivering on cross-functional initiatives.
Which industries hire the most remote operations project managers?
Most remote operations project manager openings sit in Energy, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors tend to hire operations project managers remotely because their teams are already distributed across multiple time zones, making remote coordination a core part of how the work gets done.
