Working independently with professional judgment and initiative, you will lead procurement for capital projects, maintenance programs, and facility upgrades from cradle to grave. A core focus of this role is standardizing processes, bid packages, scopes of work, and contracting practices to establish operational clarity, cost control, and data integrity across distributed project portfolios. Serve as the primary procurement subject matter expert for construction and PDS categories, owning end-to-end sourcing strategy, supplier management, and governance for capital projects and facility upgrades.
Independently manage RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes from initiation through contract execution, including bid strategy development, supplier due diligence, evaluation, negotiation, and award recommendation.
Standardize and refine scopes of work, bid packages, project specifications, and contract templates to improve accuracy, consistency, and operational efficiency across multiple sites.
Negotiate, draft, and execute supplier contracts and service agreements, ensuring clear scopes, SLAs, KPIs, pricing structures, and appropriate risk allocation while partnering with Legal, Risk Management, and Finance for compliance.
Analyze and validate supplier proposals, perform bid leveling, and evaluate change orders for fairness and alignment with contract terms to ensure optimal client value.
Perform data analysis using Microsoft Excel on large datasets including spend data, supplier performance metrics, cost structures, and project budgets to generate actionable insights and track cost savings.
Monitor supplier performance against SLAs and KPIs, manage compliance documentation (contracts, COIs, insurance, licensing, safety certifications), and resolve service issues proactively.

Tips for Your Remote Sourcing Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote sourcing openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your background and apply directly without sorting through unrelated listings.
Prove you can source independently
Remote employers want evidence you can run a sourcing cycle without daily check-ins. Document a supplier research project, a vendor shortlist you built, or a procurement process you owned end to end and reference it in your application materials.
Show async communication as a core skill
Remote sourcing teams coordinate across time zones through written updates, shared trackers, and async decision threads. Mention specific tools you've used, such as Slack, Notion, or procurement management platforms, and give examples of written communication that moved a sourcing decision forward.
Search with remote-specific sourcing keywords
Add terms like 'remote procurement', 'distributed supply chain', or 'fully remote strategic sourcing' to your searches. Remote sourcing roles are often posted under category manager, vendor analyst, or procurement specialist titles, so casting a wider net surfaces more relevant openings.
Remote Sourcing Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote sourcing job?
Target remote-first companies and distributed teams in tech, retail, and manufacturing, where sourcing workflows are already built around digital tools and async collaboration. Remote employers screen for self-direction, clear written communication, and fluency with procurement platforms and supplier databases. Candidates who can show they've managed vendor relationships or sourcing pipelines with minimal hand-holding stand out for fully remote roles.
Which companies hire remote sourcings?
Employers currently hiring remote sourcings include Alvarez & Marsal, JLL, and Trinity Health, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Remote sourcing roles concentrate at remote-first companies, e-commerce operations, and distributed supply chain teams across tech, retail, and consumer goods sectors.
Can you get a remote sourcing job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level sourcing roles are harder to land because you need to work independently from day one without on-site guidance. Companies with structured remote onboarding, internship programs, or junior procurement tracks are your best entry points. Showing a portfolio of research projects, coursework in supply chain, or self-taught fluency with sourcing tools can substitute for direct experience.
Do you need a degree for remote sourcing jobs?
Not always. Remote sourcing employers weigh demonstrated skills and real results alongside or instead of a degree, particularly for roles focused on supplier research, vendor outreach, or category analysis. Certifications in procurement or supply chain, hands-on project work, and familiarity with sourcing platforms carry real weight when formal credentials are absent.
Which industries hire the most remote sourcings?
The sectors hiring the most remote sourcings are Consulting & Professional Services, Fashion & Apparel, and Technology & Software, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These industries rely on distributed procurement teams that coordinate supplier relationships and sourcing pipelines across multiple time zones without a centralized office.
