Software Developer Engineer in Test - REST
Role and Responsibilities
- Framework Development: Develop and maintain automated test frameworks from scratch using C# and Playwright.
- Test Strategy: Collaborate with developers and product managers to identify high-risk areas and define automation coverage for web applications and APIs.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated suites into Azure pipelines to facilitate continuous testing and "shift-left" practices.
- Code Reviews: Participate in PR reviews for both application and test code, ensuring adherence to SOLID principles and clean code standards.
- Debugging & Reporting: Root cause analysis of flaky tests and production defects, providing detailed technical reports and metrics to stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate QA status, progress, and risks to management
- Advise team on project status and opportunities for improvement
- Abide by all obligations under HIPAA related to Protected Health Information (PHI)
- If a HIPAA violation is discovered, whether individually or by another, you must report the violation to the Compliance Officer and/or Human Resources.
- Attend, complete, and demonstrate competency in all required HIPAA Training offered by the company

Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- 3–5 years of professional experience in software testing or development.
- Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET Core/6+ ecosystem.
- Proven experience using Playwright (preferred) or Selenium for cross-browser testing.
- Hands-on experience testing RESTful APIs using tools like RestSharp or Playwright’s native API testing capabilities.
- Ability to write SQL queries to validate data integrity and perform test data setup
- Expert knowledge of Git (branching, merging, rebasing).
- Snowflake experience
- Microsoft Teams
- Flow charts such as Lucid Charts
- Understanding and some experience in Figma
- Find cost-effective solutions to improve monthly QA efforts
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to troubleshoot problems in unknown situations and provide effective feedback on a path forward
- Ability to work independently and make logical business decisions given general guidance
- Ability to consolidate ideas and collaborate with cross-functional working groups
- Ability to communicate at all management levels within an organization, including internal, customers, vendors, and business partners.
- Industry certifications in QA or testing (e.g., ISTQB certification).
- Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- Full-time/Salaried/Exempt.
- Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CT. We cover clients in all 50 states; work times must be adjusted to cover meetings in all time zones. Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant to industry demands.
Travel
This position will require minimal travel.
Required Education and Experience
- 3-6 years of software quality assurance experience as SDET
- 4 years of software engineering experience in a healthcare finance setting, preferred
Preferred Education and Experience
- Direct experience in the healthcare finance field, especially in the management of self-funded medical benefit plans or healthcare provider connectivity
