North Star Mental Health is looking for a mental health therapist to join our team in Carbon County. This position is a 1099 contract position and is hybrid, allowing for space in our Lehighton office or work from home. The ideal candidate will share the same values and mission as North Star Mental Health: compassion, warmth, professionalism and the desire to keep grow as an individual and team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to inform treatment planning.
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing compassionate, person-centered, evidence-based care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within electronic health records (EHR/EMR), adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines.
- Engage in ongoing research and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in mental health counseling and telehealth therapy modalities.
Experience
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in outpatient or inpatient settings with a focus on mental health counseling. Virtual Couples therapy is a plus.
- Familiarity with crisis management protocols, medical terminology related to mental health conditions, and therapy documentation standards.
- Prior telehealth experience utilizing virtual platforms for patient assessments and therapy sessions is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation; experience with CPT coding is a plus.
