Research Product Manager Jobs in Kentucky: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a research product manager in Kentucky?
The path into research product management in Kentucky typically begins with a bachelor's degree in business, information systems, psychology, or a related field, followed by experience in product operations, UX research, or data analysis. No state-issued license is required for this role in Kentucky. Employers in Louisville's healthcare technology sector and Lexington's enterprise software companies favor candidates who can demonstrate hands-on research synthesis and roadmap ownership, often through a portfolio or a series of progressively senior product roles.
Which companies hire research product managers in Kentucky?
Companies currently hiring research product managers in Kentucky include University of Kentucky, University of Louisville, and Yanfeng, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Kentucky's concentration of healthcare, logistics, and manufacturing technology firms creates steady openings for research-focused product roles across both startup and enterprise environments.
Which Kentucky cities have the most research product manager jobs?
Lexington, Louisville, and Crestview Hills have the most research product manager openings in Kentucky. Louisville leads because of its dense cluster of health insurance, logistics technology, and consumer goods headquarters, while Lexington draws demand from enterprise software firms and university-affiliated research commercialization, and smaller markets like Covington benefit from proximity to large Cincinnati-area technology employers just across the state line.
Are there remote research product manager jobs in Kentucky?
Yes, and more than most fields. Research product management is primarily a desk-based, analytical, and collaborative role that transfers well to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 13% of research product manager openings tied to Kentucky are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the role's digital-first workflow. The parts of the job most commonly performed remotely are user research synthesis, roadmap planning, and stakeholder presentations.
How can I get hired as a research product manager in Kentucky with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a research-adjacent role such as UX researcher, business analyst, or market research analyst into a junior product manager position. Large Kentucky employers like Humana and Lexmark run associate product manager programs and rotational tracks that welcome candidates without direct PM titles. Building a portfolio that documents a research process, a prioritization decision, and an outcome gives candidates a concrete edge, and completing a product management certificate from a recognized program strengthens applications when formal experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to research product manager jobs in Kentucky?
You can find and apply to research product manager jobs in Kentucky on Migrate Mate, which lists current Kentucky openings. Search the listings, find the roles that match your background and location preferences, and apply directly to whichever ones fit.
