Restaurant Operations Management Jobs in Kansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a restaurant operations management in Kansas?
Most restaurant operations management roles in Kansas require a combination of hands-on restaurant experience and demonstrated leadership, with no state-issued license specific to the role. Employers typically look for candidates who have progressed through shift supervisor or assistant manager positions at a full-service or fast-casual operation. A degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field strengthens candidacy, and ServSafe Food Manager certification is widely expected by Kansas employers.
Which companies hire restaurant operations managements in Kansas?
Kansas restaurant operations management roles are posted by Love’s Travel Stops, Wendy's, and Taco Bell and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Kansas's mix of national chain headquarters, regional franchise groups, and independent multi-unit operators keeps openings active across the state year-round.
Which Kansas cities have the most restaurant operations management jobs?
Wichita, Overland Park, and Kansas City account for the largest share of restaurant operations management openings in Kansas. Wichita drives volume as the state's largest city with the broadest concentration of national chain locations and regional headquarters, while Kansas City's cross-border metro and Topeka's state government workforce support a steady secondary market for multi-unit management talent.
Are there remote restaurant operations management jobs in Kansas?
Yes, but they're rare. Restaurant operations management is fundamentally a floor-level leadership role requiring physical presence across locations, so fully remote positions are uncommon. About 7% of restaurant operations management openings tied to Kansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to be senior-level roles focused on training program development, auditing, or regional strategy rather than day-to-day site management.
How can I get hired as a restaurant operations management in Kansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a shift lead or assistant manager role at a high-volume Kansas location and building measurable results in labor cost control and staff retention. Large Kansas operators such as franchise groups affiliated with McDonald's, Pizza Hut, and Applebee's run internal leadership development tracks that promote from within. Completing ServSafe Food Manager certification and pursuing a hospitality or business degree through Wichita State University or Kansas State University signals readiness for an accelerated track.
