Risk Management Analyst Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a risk management analyst job in Houston?
Focus your search on Houston's dominant sectors: energy and oil and gas companies in the Energy Corridor, regional banks and insurers Downtown, and large health systems in the Texas Medical Center. Employers in these industries hire risk management analysts regularly, both at the analyst and senior level. Candidates with experience in enterprise risk, operational risk, or commodity exposure modeling tend to stand out in this market.
Which companies hire risk management analysts in Houston?
Employers hiring risk management analysts in Houston right now include KBR, PwC, and ENGIE, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Houston's hiring base is unusually diverse, mixing major integrated energy companies, upstream independents, regional financial institutions, and large nonprofit health systems, all of which maintain dedicated risk functions.
Are there remote risk management analyst jobs in Houston?
Yes, though availability depends on the role. Analytical and reporting-focused positions, such as enterprise risk modeling, credit risk analysis, and regulatory compliance, are more remote-compatible than operational or facilities-tied roles. About 60% of risk management analyst openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. Hybrid arrangements are most common at financial services and insurance employers headquartered Downtown.
How can I get a risk management analyst job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Houston is through financial services or energy companies that hire analysts into rotational or junior risk roles. Large regional banks, insurance carriers, and mid-size energy firms in the Galleria and Energy Corridor areas regularly bring on candidates from finance, accounting, or data analytics backgrounds. Internships at Houston-area utilities or petrochemical firms also open doors, and lateral moves from audit, compliance, or financial planning are common first steps into risk.
