JOB SUMMARY
The SHE Intern will assist the Safety, Health and Environmental Department in ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment that encompasses electronics manufacturing, product assembly, and minor machining. This position will directly contribute to the continuous improvement of Altronic's SHE Programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety/Health:
- Assist in conducting Safety Inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
- Support and directly implement outlined corrective actions and opportunities for improvement to mitigate identified risks.
- Participate in the development and delivery of safety training programs for employees.
- Assist in the investigation of incidents and near-misses, and contribute to the review of metrics related to safety incidents.
- Help generate, maintain, and update safety records and documentation.
- Assist in the monitoring of occupational health programs and initiatives.
- Support ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements to reduce workplace injuries.
Environmental:
- Assist in conducting environmental impact assessments and audits.
- Support the implementation of waste reduction and recycling programs.
- Help monitor compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Participate in sustainability initiatives and projects aimed at reducing the plant's environmental footprint.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Strong interest in SHE Management in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Basic understanding of SHE Regulations and standards is a plus.
