- Assist technical staff with day-to-day design tasks for various types of transportation and traffic projects.
- Conduct basic engineering functions including computer-aided design, calculations and cost estimating under the direct supervision of senior engineers and managers.
- Develop roadway, sidewalk, intersection design, including roundabouts, traffic signals, interchanges, and other highway infrastructure.
- Demonstrate the ability to prepare low-level complexity general engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
- Assist with other project related tasks such as permit applications, material testing, drawings and CAD work.
- Visit projects under construction and assist with field reconnaissance under the supervision of a senior engineer or project manager.

- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related program.
