Pavestone, part of The QUIKRETE® Companies, the leading packaged cement and concrete products producer, has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Quality/Safety Technician for our Middleboro, Middleboro, facility.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with an extensive EH&S and/or quality experience.

Responsibilities:
Quality
- Ensures that all quality control requirements are fulfilled with the frequency as specified in the Pavestone PQP manual.
- Ensures that all logs and files related to the quality control function are legible, well-organized, and properly maintained.
- Evaluates quality data, regarding both finished product and raw materials, communicating trends to the Plant /General Manager, the Regional Quality Control Manager. Investigates causes and takes corrective action.
- Trains personnel for appropriate action when specifications are not being met.
- Supervise quality control activity by other staff.
- Maintains laboratory equipment in proper working order and ensured that laboratory conditions are within standards.
- Ensures that any non-conforming product is properly identified for a decision on disposition by the Plant/General Manager.
- Ensures that samples are retained as specified in Pavestone PQP Manual, or as instructed.
Safety
- Responsible for oversight, implementation, and continuous improvement of Pavestone’s Safety and Health program
- Performs new employee training and onboarding as it relates to the safety program
- Active in monthly plant trainings as well as task specific safety training
- Works alongside Plant Manager and General Manager on environmental compliance
- Participates in company safety committee
- Conducts incident investigations to determine root cause & corrective actions.
- Performs periodic site assessments
- Serves as a safety “coach” and is a resource for all plant employees
Job Qualifications
- College degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety will accept practical experience in lieu of degree
- Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Must have strong leadership and collaboration skills
- Must have strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus but not required
- Strong computer knowledge along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must be able to wear all required PPE (Hard hat, safety glasses, safety footwear, and hearing protection)
