Most sales and marketing specialist roles in Mississippi require a bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or communications. Mississippi does not issue a state license for general marketing or sales work, so employers focus on education and demonstrated skills. Building experience through internships with Jackson-area firms, completing coursework in digital marketing or data analytics, and earning vendor-recognized certifications in platforms like Google Ads or HubSpot strengthens a candidate's profile considerably.
How much do sales and marketing specialists make in Mississippi?
Sales and marketing specialists in Mississippi earn a median of about $56,640 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $30,780 for the lowest 10% to over $95,240 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales and marketing specialists in Mississippi?
Employers hiring sales and marketing specialists in Mississippi right now include AnderCorp, CVS Health, and Sprint Mart, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's mix of healthcare systems, regional banks, energy companies, and food-manufacturing firms generates consistent demand for marketing professionals who understand both consumer and B2B channels.
Which Mississippi cities have the most sales and marketing specialist jobs?
Jackson, Oxford, and Tupelo have the most sales and marketing specialist openings in Mississippi. Jackson dominates as the state capital and commercial center, anchored by healthcare systems, financial institutions, and utilities, while Gulfport and the Gulf Coast corridor draw openings from hospitality, gaming, and port-adjacent distribution companies that rely on active sales and marketing teams.
Are there remote sales and marketing specialist jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, and more than most fields, given how much of the work involves digital campaigns, CRM management, and client communications that travel well over video and email. About 25% of sales and marketing specialist openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the remote share strongest for content marketing, digital advertising, and marketing analytics roles rather than field sales positions.
How can I get hired as a sales and marketing specialist in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a marketing coordinator or inside sales associate role at a mid-size Mississippi company, which typically requires a degree but not prior marketing experience. Healthcare systems such as Baptist Health and University of Mississippi Medical Center, along with regional banks and insurance carriers, regularly bring on new-graduate marketing associates. Building a portfolio through volunteer work with Mississippi nonprofits, completing a Google Digital Marketing certificate, and targeting coordinator-level postings in Jackson or Hattiesburg are practical first steps.
