Sales Representative Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales representative in Mississippi?
Most sales representative roles in Mississippi require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though some employers hire strong candidates with an associate degree and relevant experience. Certain specialties require additional credentials: pharmaceutical and medical device sales candidates benefit from life sciences coursework, while insurance sales representatives must obtain a Mississippi insurance producer license through the Mississippi Insurance Department before soliciting clients. Building a portfolio of measurable results from internships or adjacent roles accelerates hiring.
Which companies hire sales representatives in Mississippi?
Companies currently hiring sales representatives in Mississippi include Cleft of the Rock, Kimball Midwest, and Ole Mexican Foods, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's manufacturing base, regional banking sector, and healthcare network consistently generate openings for territory and account-based sales roles across the state.
Which Mississippi cities have the most sales representative jobs?
Jackson, Gulfport, and Southaven have the most sales representative openings in Mississippi. Jackson leads as the state capital and largest metro, home to major healthcare systems, insurance carriers, and regional bank headquarters, while Gulfport and Hattiesburg drive openings through their retail, hospitality, and healthcare corridors along the Gulf Coast and in the Pine Belt region.
Are there remote sales representative jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely desk-based fields, since many Mississippi sales roles involve in-person client visits across assigned territories. About 21% of sales representative openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting a real but selective share of the market. Inside sales, software sales, and some financial services roles tend to be the most remote-friendly options available.
How can I get hired as a sales representative in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for inside sales associate or sales development representative positions, which large Mississippi employers in telecommunications, insurance, and financial services regularly post as starting roles. C Spire and Regions Bank, for example, offer structured onboarding programs for new sales hires without extensive prior experience. Completing a Mississippi Insurance Department producer license course before applying to insurance roles gives candidates a concrete edge, and retail or customer service experience at Mississippi-based employers is routinely accepted as a qualifying background.
Where can I find and apply to sales representative jobs in Mississippi?
You can find and apply to sales representative jobs in Mississippi on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring across the state right now.
