Territory Business Manager Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a territory business manager in Mississippi?
Most territory business managers in Mississippi start with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, then move into a junior sales or account coordinator role to build industry knowledge. Mississippi does not require a state-issued license specifically for territory business management, though roles in regulated industries like pharmaceutical or medical device sales may require manufacturer or industry-specific certifications. Employers in Jackson and along the Gulf Coast often promote from inside their sales associate ranks.
How much do territory business managers make in Mississippi?
Territory business managers in Mississippi earn a median of about $108,750 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,350 for the lowest 10% to over $217,460 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire territory business managers in Mississippi?
Employers hiring territory business managers in Mississippi right now include Toast, Milwaukee Tool, and Ole Mexican Foods, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's agricultural, healthcare, and telecom sectors drive consistent demand, with companies covering territories that extend from the Delta region in the north down through the Pine Belt and Gulf Coast.
Which Mississippi cities have the most territory business manager jobs?
Jackson, Mississippi, and Brandon lead Mississippi for territory business manager openings. Jackson anchors the most postings as the state capital and largest metro, home to major healthcare systems, financial institutions, and distribution hubs, while Gulfport and Hattiesburg generate steady demand from coastal manufacturing, healthcare, and regional retail accounts that require dedicated field coverage.
Are there remote territory business manager jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, but they're rare. About 54% of territory business manager openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which reflects the fundamentally field-based nature of the role. The portions of the job most likely to be done remotely are administrative tasks like CRM updates, forecasting, and virtual client check-ins, while client visits, product demos, and territory prospecting require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a territory business manager in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development representative or account coordinator role at a Mississippi-based company, where you learn territory management from an established team. Large employers like C Spire and regional healthcare distributors headquartered in Jackson regularly hire entry-level sales associates and rotate them into territory roles after demonstrating results. A Salesforce or HubSpot certification and a strong record in any customer-facing position, such as retail management or inside sales, significantly improves a candidate's profile.
