Clinical Sales Specialist Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical sales specialist in Mississippi?
Most clinical sales specialists in Mississippi enter the field with a bachelor's degree in biology, nursing, business, or a related discipline. The role itself carries no state-issued license in Mississippi, but candidates selling specific medical devices or pharmaceuticals must comply with any facility credentialing requirements set by the hospitals or clinics they call on. Building clinical knowledge and completing a manufacturer training program are the most direct paths into the role.
How much do clinical sales specialists make in Mississippi?
Clinical sales specialists in Mississippi earn a median of about $74,990 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,750 for the lowest 10% to over $123,010 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire clinical sales specialists in Mississippi?
Employers hiring clinical sales specialists in Mississippi right now include HealthTrust Workforce Solutions, Baptist Memorial Health Care, and University of Mississippi Medical Center, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's concentration of regional health systems and long-term care networks creates steady demand for both pharmaceutical and medical device representatives throughout the state.
Which Mississippi cities have the most clinical sales specialist jobs?
Jackson, Flowood, and Natchez have the most clinical sales specialist openings in Mississippi. Jackson leads because it is home to the University of Mississippi Medical Center and a dense network of specialty clinics, while Gulfport and Hattiesburg anchor the Gulf Coast and Pine Belt markets where regional hospitals and outpatient surgery centers drive consistent device and pharmaceutical sales activity.
Are there remote clinical sales specialist jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, but they are rare. Clinical sales work is fundamentally field-based, requiring in-person visits to hospitals, surgery centers, and physician offices across an assigned territory. About 14% of clinical sales specialist openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically cover inside sales, clinical education, or product training functions rather than direct territory management.
How can I get hired as a clinical sales specialist in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development or associate territory representative role with a medical device or pharmaceutical company operating in Mississippi. Baptist Health Systems and the University of Mississippi Medical Center network occasionally work with manufacturers running new-rep training programs. Candidates coming from clinical backgrounds such as surgical tech, radiology, or respiratory therapy have a clear advantage, as do those who have completed a formal medical sales certificate program and can demonstrate clinical fluency to hiring managers.
