Account Manager Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a account manager in Mississippi?
Most account manager roles in Mississippi require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, though some employers in insurance and financial services require additional licensing such as a Mississippi Department of Insurance producer license. Candidates typically start in inside sales or customer success roles, build a portfolio of managed accounts, and move into account management. Employers in industries like healthcare and telecom often prefer candidates with relevant industry experience alongside the degree.
How much do account managers make in Mississippi?
Account managers in Mississippi earn a median of about $48,440 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $31,620 for the lowest 10% to over $98,430 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire account managers in Mississippi?
Employers hiring account managers in Mississippi right now include State Farm, Rent-A-Center, and HES Facilities Management, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's healthcare, logistics, and telecommunications sectors drive consistent demand, with regional and national companies maintaining dedicated account management teams throughout the state.
Which Mississippi cities have the most account manager jobs?
Jackson, Meridian, and Biloxi have the most account manager openings in Mississippi. Jackson leads as the state capital and commercial center, home to large employers in finance, healthcare, and government contracting, while Gulfport benefits from Gulf Coast logistics and gaming industry clients, and Hattiesburg draws openings tied to its regional healthcare systems and university-anchored business community.
Are there remote account manager jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, and more than many client-facing roles, since account management is largely relationship-driven and communication-based work that translates well to remote settings. About 26% of account manager openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting employer flexibility across the state. Strategic and national account roles tend to be the most remote-friendly, while territory-based roles covering Mississippi clients typically require local presence.
How can I get hired as a account manager in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through inside sales or customer service representative roles at Mississippi-based employers in industries like telecommunications, financial services, or healthcare, where companies such as C Spire and Regions Bank regularly hire entry-level client-facing staff who can advance into account management. Building familiarity with a CRM platform and earning an insurance producer license through the Mississippi Department of Insurance strengthens early applications. Associate account roles at distribution or logistics companies in the Jackson metro also provide a direct bridge into formal account management responsibilities.
