Sales Representative Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales representative in Florida?
The path depends on the industry. For insurance sales, Florida requires passing a state licensure exam through the Florida Department of Financial Services and holding an active 2-20 (general lines) or 4-40 (customer representative) license before soliciting clients. For pharmaceutical, medical device, or B2B technology sales, no state license applies, but employers typically expect a bachelor's degree in business, life sciences, or a related field alongside demonstrated customer service or sales internship experience.
Which companies hire sales representatives in Florida?
Employers hiring sales representatives in Florida right now include Power Home Remodeling, Freeway Insurance Services America, and ADT, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's large insurance, healthcare, and technology sectors mean demand is spread across multinational corporations, regional distributors, and fast-growing mid-size firms with offices in Miami, Tampa, and Orlando.
Which Florida cities have the most sales representative jobs?
Miami, Tampa, and Orlando have the most sales representative openings in Florida right now. Miami leads because of its dense concentration of financial services, healthcare, and international trade companies, while Tampa's growing technology corridor and Orlando's tourism, hospitality, and healthcare industries generate strong and steady demand across both those metros.
Are there remote sales representative jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than many fields, particularly for inside sales and SaaS account executive roles where client interaction happens by phone and video. About 30% of sales representative openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly technology has shifted the role. Territory-based positions in medical devices, real estate, and field sales remain predominantly in-person.
How can I get hired as a sales representative in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is an inside sales associate or sales development representative role, which large Florida employers like AutoNation, AdventHealth's vendor partners, and regional insurance agencies use specifically to onboard candidates without prior sales history. Completing a Florida Department of Financial Services pre-licensing course and earning a 4-40 customer representative license gives candidates a concrete edge for insurance-side openings. Adjacent roles in customer service, retail management, or account coordination at Florida-based firms are a recognized lateral move into a full sales representative position.
Where can I find and apply to sales representative jobs in Florida?
