INTRODUCTION
Who We Are
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion. Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work. Build your way to an interview at Notion HQ and skip the traditional job application process. We're looking for people who love building in Notion to become our next Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) and Business Development Representatives (BDRs).
⚡️ Program Overview
- Tell us why you want to be an SDR or BDR at Notion.
- Qualified applicants receive one month of Notion Business.
- Build an agent an SDR or BDR would actually use on the job.
- Submit a video of your build.
- Top builders receive an invitation to interview at Notion HQ.
Submission window closes on July 15, 2026 at 5pm PT.
💼 There are two roles available depending on your experience level.
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you'll handle inbound requests from prospective customers, qualify them to determine whether they're a good fit for Notion, and run discovery calls to understand their business challenges. This role is ideal for people who are just getting started in their career, have a genuine interest in sales, and love Notion.
As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you'll go outbound, using data and research to get in front of the right customers, run discovery calls with executives, and share what you learn to help make Notion better. This role is ideal for candidates who already have some SDR or BDR experience and are ready to take the next step. Both roles put you on the front lines helping customers understand what becomes possible with Notion. You'll be part of an early team helping define how Notion grows.
🫵 Who is this for?
SDR and BDR roles are how some of the best people in tech got their start. We're looking for people who'd rather build something than talk about it, and who have a genuine love for Notion and a bias toward action. Notion Business Access Is Available To a Limited Number Of Qualified Applicants And Will Be Granted On a Rolling Basis.
To Be Eligible You Must
- Be based in the San Francisco Bay Area
- Be able to work in office three days a week (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays)
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Have a genuine interest in a career in sales
- Have prior outbound sales experience (BDR role only)
🧱 What To Build
Sales development teams spend a significant portion of their time on work that doesn't require human judgment. AI agents are increasingly being used to automate exactly this, freeing time to focus on the conversations that move the needle. That's what we want to see from you.
Pick one of the scenarios below and build a Notion agent that works alongside you helping you complete the task at hand.
Scenario 1: The warm intro
You have a list of 50 customer leads. Before you schedule a meeting you want to know what they do, what's changed at the company recently, and why Notion might matter to them right now. Build an agent that does that research for you and surfaces what you need before every call.
Scenario 2: The follow up
You just got off a discovery call with a VP of EPD at a 500 person tech company. They were interested but not ready to buy. You need to send a thoughtful follow up that references what they told you, connects it to something specific Notion can do, and gives them a reason to take the next step. Build an agent that helps you write that message without starting from scratch every time.
Scenario 3: The automated pipeline
You're managing 30 prospective customers across different stages of the customer lifecycle. Some need a follow up, some have gone quiet, some just hit a trigger that means now is the right time to reach out. Build an agent that keeps track of where every prospect stands and tells you what to do next.
Scenario 4: The meeting prep
You have three discovery calls tomorrow with executives you've never met. You need to walk in knowing their business, their likely challenges, and the right questions to ask. Build an agent that preps you for every call without spending hours on research.
The best submissions will show genuine curiosity, real tinkering, and a point of view on what great sales tools look like.
📹 How to submit
If you're selected to participate, we'll send you instructions on how to record and submit your demo using Loom free screen recorder. You'll have 4 minutes or less to walk us through your thinking: what problem did you identify, what did you build, and why does it matter?

A Note on AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.

Candidates who can demonstrate pipeline generation, familiarity with SaaS sales cycles, and comfort with CRM tools stand out locally. Networking through San Francisco-area industry meetups and startup demo events also gives candidates a real edge over cold applications.
Which companies hire sales business developments in San Francisco?

The local employer mix leans heavily toward venture-backed software companies, enterprise technology firms, and financial services platforms headquartered or with major offices in the city.
