Sales Development Manager Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales development manager job in Chicago?
The strongest path into a sales development manager role in Chicago runs through the city's dense B2B software, fintech, and professional services sectors, particularly firms headquartered in the Loop, River North, and Fulton Market. Candidates who come in with a history of managing SDR teams, hitting pipeline targets, and using CRM platforms like Salesforce stand out. Networking through Chicago's active sales and revenue leadership communities also accelerates hiring timelines here.
Which companies hire sales development managers in Chicago?
Employers hiring sales development managers in Chicago right now include Stripe, OpenGov, and LSP44, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Chicago's hiring mix leans toward mid-market and enterprise SaaS companies, financial technology firms, and large professional services organizations with dedicated inside sales operations.
Are there remote sales development manager jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though partially: sales development managers who handle pipeline strategy and team coaching can often work remotely, while those who run in-person sales floors or attend client events tend to be on-site. About 75% of sales development manager openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common among Chicago's enterprise software and fintech employers.
How can I get a sales development manager job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up from an SDR or business development representative role at one of Chicago's many mid-size SaaS or B2B services companies, where internal promotions into team lead and manager positions are common. Firms in Fulton Market and the West Loop frequently hire SDR team leads as a bridge role. Building a measurable record of quota attainment and showing early coaching or mentorship of junior reps gives candidates the clearest edge when stepping into their first management title here.

Chicago sales development manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Manufacturing, and Banking & Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Chicago's position as a national hub for enterprise technology, financial services, and healthcare technology means those sectors consistently generate the highest volume of SDR management openings in the city.
