Sales Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales job in Boston?
The strongest path into Boston's sales market is targeting the sectors that dominate local hiring: life sciences and biotech companies clustered in Kendall Square and the Seaport, SaaS and technology firms in Back Bay and the Financial District, and financial services firms throughout downtown. Candidates who can show consultative selling experience, familiarity with long B2B sales cycles, or a network in one of these industries move to the top of the list fastest.
Which companies hire saless in Boston?
Companies currently hiring saless in Boston include AT&T, Hilton, and Waters, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Boston's employer mix leans heavily toward established enterprise technology firms, regional insurance and financial services companies, and a dense cluster of venture-backed biotech and medtech startups that scale their commercial teams as they hit growth milestones.
Are there remote sales jobs in Boston?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on the type of sales role. About 67% of sales openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the highest share in software and SaaS account management where customer relationships are managed digitally. Field sales, medical device, and in-person enterprise roles based in Boston's Seaport and Financial District almost always require on-site presence.
How can I get a sales job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Boston is a sales development representative role at one of the city's many growth-stage SaaS or fintech companies, which regularly hire candidates without prior sales experience and provide structured training. Boston-area universities and coding bootcamps also feed talent into these programs. Familiarity with CRM tools, a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, and any internship in a customer-facing role give local candidates a clear edge over generalist applicants.
Which industries hire the most saless in Boston?
Most sales openings in Boston sit in Medical Devices, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Boston's concentration of world-class hospitals and research institutions, a nationally significant financial services corridor downtown, and one of the densest biotech ecosystems in the country all drive sustained commercial hiring across these sectors year-round.
