Position Overview
Our Client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Estimator to join their team. This role combines advanced construction and insurance restoration estimating expertise with business development, sales, and client relationship management.
The Sales Estimator will be responsible for generating new business, developing and maintaining referral relationships, preparing accurate and competitive estimates, and managing their own restoration losses from initial customer contact through project completion.
The ideal candidate will have experience in insurance restoration, strong proficiency in Xactimate and Symbility/CoreLogic, and the ability to develop client relationships and convert opportunities into profitable projects.
This position involves managing residential, commercial, and industrial restoration projects across a large regional territory, with opportunities to support national clients and respond to catastrophic events (CAT) when needed.
Sales & Business Development Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strong referral network throughout the Allentown, Harrisburg, and surrounding regional markets.
- Build and manage relationships with insurance adjusters, agents, property managers, commercial property owners, community business owners, schools, municipalities, and other potential referral sources.
- Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities within residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional markets.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, client outreach, industry events, community involvement, and relationship-building activities.
- Develop and manage a consistent pipeline of prospective customers and referral partners, tracking opportunities from initial contact through project award.
- Conduct client meetings, site visits, presentations, and follow-up discussions to understand customer needs and identify restoration or reconstruction opportunities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by explaining project scopes, restoration solutions, estimating processes, timelines, and potential costs.
- Prepare and present competitive estimates and proposals that clearly communicate project value, scope, pricing, and expected outcomes.
- Collaborate with clients, adjusters, and consultants to negotiate project scopes, budgets, agreements, and pricing while protecting company profitability.
- Convert qualified leads and referral opportunities into awarded projects through professional communication, timely follow-up, and strong customer service.
- Maintain regular communication with existing clients and referral partners to encourage repeat business and long-term relationships.
- Identify opportunities for additional services, including emergency response, water and fire damage mitigation, controlled demolition, reconstruction, and other restoration services.
- Participate in business development meetings, networking events, trade associations, and company-sponsored sales activities.
- Monitor market conditions, customer needs, and regional opportunities to support business growth.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client contacts, referrals, estimates, proposals, and project opportunities in company systems.
- Work with management and operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales and estimating to project execution.
- Meet established sales, revenue, gross profit, customer service, and business development objectives as assigned.
- Support national account opportunities and regional CAT response efforts to expand client relationships and project opportunities.
Estimating & Project Management Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee assigned insurance restoration losses from initial inspection and estimating through project completion.
- Act as the primary contact for property owners, insurance adjusters, consultants, and other stakeholders throughout the estimating and project management process.
- Accurately scope, identify, and document site conditions, damage, materials, labor requirements, and project specifications.
- Develop detailed project scopes, estimates, proposals, and budgets for residential, commercial, and industrial restoration projects.
- Utilize Xactimate and Symbility/CoreLogic to prepare accurate estimates, including detailed multi-level and roof sketches where applicable.
- Prepare estimates using company-standard formatting, ensuring accuracy across all applicable trades, quantities, labor, materials, and line items.
- Manage residential estimates exceeding $50,000 and commercial estimates exceeding $100,000, as applicable to assigned projects.
- Review project budgets and proactively identify potential cost overruns, scope changes, and additional work requirements.
- Negotiate agreements, scopes of work, pricing, and project expectations with customers, adjusters, consultants, and management.
- Coordinate with project managers, trades, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are properly scheduled and resourced.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and coordinate the work required to move each loss from approved scope through completion.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, timelines, and customer expectations through completion.
- Identify and communicate additional project needs, change orders, and scope revisions in a timely manner.
- Respond to emergency calls and coordinate after-hours services, including board-ups, water and fire damage mitigation, and related restoration services.
- Support regional and national CAT response operations when required.
- Identify potential site hazards, including asbestos, lead paint, mold, and other environmental concerns, and incorporate appropriate safety measures and specialized services into project planning.
- Apply knowledge of decontamination, mitigation, controlled demolition, and restoration techniques to develop appropriate project scopes.
- Stay current with local building codes, restoration standards, safety requirements, and industry regulations.
- Complete required project documentation, incident reports, accident reports, and other company forms accurately and promptly.
- Maintain professional communication with customers, adjusters, consultants, co-workers, vendors, and management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage assigned workload independently, prioritize deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
- Attend company-sponsored training, including operations, safety, sales, and estimating software courses.
- Pursue ongoing professional development to strengthen estimating, sales, project management, and restoration expertise.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction, insurance restoration , contents estimating, or a related field.
- Required experience working with insurance restoration claims, adjusters, property owners, and restoration projects.
- Proven experience in sales, business development, account management, or customer relationship management, preferably within construction or restoration.
- Demonstrated ability to generate leads, build referral networks, develop client relationships, and convert opportunities into awarded projects.
- Experience preparing residential estimates exceeding $50,000 and commercial estimates exceeding $100,000.
- Proficiency in Xactimate and Symbility/CoreLogic estimating software.
- Advanced Xactimate training and certification, with strong proficiency in Xactimate Sketch.
- Strong knowledge of construction, restoration, mitigation, and reconstruction processes across multiple trades.
- Willingness and ability to project manage assigned losses from initial estimate and customer approval through project completion.
- Experience managing project scopes, budgets, timelines, customer expectations, and coordination with trades and vendors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates, sales opportunities, client relationships, and project deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant business or estimating software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with management, operations teams, vendors, and clients.

- Ability to travel throughout the regional territory and support national client or CAT assignments as needed.
