Sales Development Representative Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales development representative in Pennsylvania?
No state-issued license is required to work as a sales development representative in Pennsylvania. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field, though some hire candidates with an associate degree and strong interpersonal skills. Completing a sales methodology course or CRM certification strengthens your candidacy. Many Pennsylvania employers, particularly in Philadelphia's technology and financial services corridors, start candidates in sales associate or business development coordinator roles before promoting into a full sales development representative position.
How much do sales development representatives make in Pennsylvania?
Sales development representatives in Pennsylvania earn a median of about $64,480 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $37,270 for the lowest 10% to over $133,980 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales development representatives in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring sales development representatives in Pennsylvania right now include EAB, Ford Office Technologies, and TEKsystems, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's strong base of technology, insurance, and healthcare companies means openings appear frequently across both enterprise organizations and growth-stage firms anchored in the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh metro areas.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most sales development representative jobs?
Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Wayne have the most sales development representative openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia leads because of its dense concentration of technology companies, financial institutions, and healthcare organizations headquartered there, while Pittsburgh's growing tech sector and Harrisburg's government-adjacent business services industry drive meaningful hiring in those markets as well.
Are there remote sales development representative jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than most fields, because sales development work is phone and email driven and does not require a physical location. About 40% of sales development representative openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how easily the role translates to distributed teams. Outbound prospecting and CRM-based pipeline management are the functions most commonly performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a sales development representative in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly for junior or associate sales development representative roles that Pennsylvania technology and financial services companies post for recent graduates. Employers like Comcast and Lincoln Financial Group run structured onboarding programs for early-career candidates in Philadelphia. A lateral move from a customer service, inside sales, or account coordinator role is also a proven door opener. Earning a Salesforce Administrator credential or completing a recognized sales training program gives candidates without direct SDR experience a concrete edge in Pennsylvania interviews.
Where can I find and apply to sales development representative jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to sales development representative jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings updated regularly. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
