Sales Development Representative Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales development representative in Utah?
No state-issued license or registration is required to work as a sales development representative in Utah. Most employers look for a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or communications, though some hire candidates from any field who can demonstrate strong communication skills. Building foundational knowledge through Utah Valley University, the University of Utah, or BYU's sales programs, then applying directly to SDR roles at Utah tech companies, is a common and effective path.
How much do sales development representatives make in Utah?
Sales development representatives in Utah earn a median of about $62,580 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $35,930 for the lowest 10% to over $131,030 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales development representatives in Utah?
Employers hiring sales development representatives in Utah right now include Atlassian, Podium, and Rippling, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Utah's dense concentration of technology and SaaS companies along the Wasatch Front means SDR demand tends to be consistent year-round rather than seasonal.
Which Utah cities have the most sales development representative jobs?
Lehi, Salt Lake City, and Draper account for the largest share of sales development representative openings in Utah. Salt Lake City draws volume from enterprise software and financial services firms headquartered downtown, while Lehi and Provo benefit from a high density of growth-stage SaaS and technology companies clustered in the area widely known as Silicon Slopes, which has become a significant hub for early-stage sales roles.
Are there remote sales development representative jobs in Utah?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 62% of sales development representative openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and communication-driven nature of the role. Fully remote positions are most common at established SaaS companies whose product teams are distributed, while hybrid arrangements are typical at growth-stage firms that prefer in-person collaboration during onboarding and team pipeline reviews.
How can I get hired as a sales development representative in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to SDR associate or business development representative programs at Utah technology companies, many of which are structured to onboard candidates without prior sales experience. Companies such as Adobe and Qualtrics have historically run cohort-style onboarding programs for new graduates. Lateral moves from customer success, retail sales, or account coordination roles are widely accepted. Completing a HubSpot Sales Software certification or a Salesforce Trailhead module gives a candidate a concrete, verifiable credential that Utah hiring managers recognize.
Where can I find and apply to sales development representative jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to sales development representative jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current Utah openings. Search the available roles, identify the ones that fit your background and target industry, and apply directly through each listing.
