Mid Level Sales Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level sales manager job?
Position your experience around ownership, not just participation. Highlight deals you closed independently, quotas you hit or exceeded, and any time you led a sales process from prospecting to close. Recruiters at this level want to see that you can run a pipeline with minimal hand-holding, so lead with outcomes, territory scope, and the complexity of the accounts you managed.
Which companies hire mid level sales managers?
Companies hiring mid level sales managers right now include Ingersoll-Rand, Verizon, and Michaels, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from growth-stage companies scaling their sales teams, as well as established enterprises backfilling roles as senior managers move up.
Are there remote mid level sales manager jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by industry and company size. About 37% of mid level sales manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with fully remote roles more common in software, technology, and media. Field-based or territory sales roles in retail and distribution typically require some in-person presence.
How do I move up to a mid level sales manager role?
Getting to mid level means building a record of independent results over your first few years: consistently meeting quota, taking ownership of accounts without being prompted, and showing you can mentor or guide newer teammates. Employers look for candidates who have moved past task-execution into genuine decision-making, so focus on deepening product knowledge, expanding your deal complexity, and documenting measurable business impact.
Which industries hire the most mid level sales managers?
Mid Level sales manager roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Technology & Software, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to maintain large, layered sales organizations with defined career paths, which creates consistent demand for managers who can own a segment and develop the reps below them.
