Supports DriSteem’s sales efforts by being the primary day-to-day independent sales representative contact for manufacturer’s representatives:
- Provides product information, application, sizing
- Assists when needed with pricing, written quotations, submittals
- Is extremely knowledgeable with DriCalc selection software
- Builds quality, long lasting relationships with representative personnel
- Utilizes other departments and coworkers as needed to meet customer’s needs
- Performs as secondary contact person for assigned sales representative/OEM accounts when Regional Sales Managers are unavailable.
- Capable of coordinating and negotiation of projects, with the representative/OEM accounts, that will contribute to the growth and profitability of the company.
- Identifies customer needs and provides knowledgeable assistance to help customer select correct products to serve their needs.
- Confirms verbal quotations in writing and responds to quotation requests.
- Attend Manufacturer’s Representative training sessions and outside-of-work functions as required as an ambassador of DriSteem.
DriSteem Focus
- With a solid background of DriSteem equipment, you maintain knowledge of products, systems, and services in order to help sell appropriate equipment at a proper margin.
- Good understanding of a consultative selling approach with the representative/OEM accounts that will contribute to the growth and profitability of the company.
- Reviews customer purchase orders prior to order entry for accuracy with emphasis on the following: specification credits, pricing, (DMF’s) discount multiplier forms, change orders, wiring diagrams, (ETO’s) Engineered to Order forms.
- Keeps Sales Manager informed of important developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates/communicates Inside Sales plans and activities with other personnel, where appropriate, to ensure a coordinated work effort and “team approach”.
- Collaborative, communicative and visible member of the inside sales team who works well with others.
- Work as and internal partner with marketing and engineering to be their “eyes” in the marketplace providing product and competitive feedback.
- Seeks and recommends ways to improve sales methods and procedures and to increase overall efficiency.
- Make recommendations, which will improve existing, company products or which will lead toward the development of new/improved products.
General Responsibilities
- Makes and receives telephone calls and quotes accurate prices to all customers in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
- Desire to learn and grow.
- Maintain positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management. Maliciously motivated criticism, bullying or harassment will not be tolerated.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Enters unit and parts orders into Syteline in a backup role only.
- Travels as required to assist Regional Sales Managers, Representatives, and the Company as required, typically less than 5%.
- Support continual compliance with ISO 9001 standards and procedures.
- Comply with any/all company safety and health rules and policies and promotes safe work practices. Report any safety concerns to a supervisor/manager.
- Perform related work as apparent or assigned.
- Preferred Associate Degree in Business Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Two plus years of related sales experience, preferably in HVAC products, at a previous employer or within DriSteem.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of customers, company personnel and others.
- Superior knowledge of the DriSteem products and respective Markets.
- Experience in Syteline/Infor ERP desired.
- Intermediate level of experience with Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook software.
- Ability to operate various office equipment to include: computer, keyboard, printer and the related financial software, calculator, telephone, photocopier, fax, etc.
- Driven and self-motivated with a strong, outgoing personality.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills that completely and concisely answer the question at hand as well as educate the customer.
- Good understanding of Psychrometrics, HVAC system layout, pumps, fans, steam principles. Reads plans and specifications and recommends the proper humidification system solution.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Good technical aptitude.
- Must be detailed oriented to ensure systematic procedures are followed for consistency purposes.
- Must project an aggressive, professional sales attitude.
- Mindset towards automation and streamlining processes.
- Does all of the above with a high energy level and with a positive attitude.
