Territory Sales Manager Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a territory sales manager in Minnesota?
Most territory sales managers in Minnesota enter the role through a combination of a bachelor's degree and field sales experience, typically starting as a sales representative or account executive before moving into territory management. Minnesota does not require a state-issued license specifically for this role, but positions in medical devices or pharmaceutical sales often expect candidates to complete manufacturer-led credentialing. Building a record of quota attainment and familiarity with Minnesota's key industries, such as agribusiness, medical technology, or industrial distribution, strengthens a candidacy considerably.
How much do territory sales managers make in Minnesota?
Territory sales managers in Minnesota earn a median of about $151,670 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,900 for the lowest 10% to over $258,460 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire territory sales managers in Minnesota?
Companies currently hiring territory sales managers in Minnesota include Purple Wave Auction, United Placement, and Philips, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and medical device manufacturers means openings are spread across both corporate giants and well-funded regional distributors.
Which Minnesota cities have the most territory sales manager jobs?
Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Saint Paul account for the largest share of territory sales manager openings in Minnesota. Minneapolis-Saint Paul drives volume through its dense cluster of corporate headquarters, healthcare systems, and regional distribution hubs, while Rochester's prominence in medical technology and Mayo Clinic's supplier ecosystem generates consistent demand, and Duluth anchors openings tied to industrial, logistics, and natural-resources sectors in northeastern Minnesota.
Are there remote territory sales manager jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, but they are relatively limited, because territory sales management is fundamentally a field role that involves in-person client visits and on-site relationship building across a defined geography. About 80% of territory sales manager openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be in inside-sales-adjacent or account management roles where customer meetings happen primarily by phone or video rather than on location.
How can I get hired as a territory sales manager in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a sales development representative or inside sales role at a Minnesota employer and building toward a territory assignment from within. Companies like Medtronic, Uline, and Patterson Companies run structured sales associate or rotational programs at their Minnesota operations that funnel strong performers into territory roles. Targeting industries where Minnesota hiring is heaviest, such as medical devices, agribusiness, or industrial distribution, and completing a manufacturer's product-certification course before applying gives candidates without a quota history a concrete credential to point to.
Where can I find and apply to territory sales manager jobs in Minnesota?
You can find and apply to territory sales manager jobs in Minnesota on Migrate Mate, which lists current Minnesota openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find the roles that match your background and preferred region of the state, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
