Territory Sales Manager Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a territory sales manager in Tennessee?
Most territory sales manager roles in Tennessee require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a field aligned with the industry you'll be selling into, along with outside sales experience. Tennessee does not issue a state license for general sales management, so the path runs through employer-sponsored promotion or direct hire based on demonstrated results. Industries like medical devices may expect familiarity with clinical environments, while food and beverage distributors often promote from inside account representative roles.
How much do territory sales managers make in Tennessee?
Territory sales managers in Tennessee earn a median of about $128,040 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $67,220 for the lowest 10% to over $231,830 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire territory sales managers in Tennessee?
Employers hiring territory sales managers in Tennessee right now include Sika, Uline, and Leaf Home, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tennessee's mix of healthcare, logistics, and manufacturing industries means openings appear across a wide range of product lines and customer types throughout the state.
Which Tennessee cities have the most territory sales manager jobs?
Knoxville, Nashville, and Memphis have the most territory sales manager openings in Tennessee. Nashville leads because of its concentration of healthcare companies, corporate headquarters, and distribution centers, while Memphis benefits from its role as a major logistics and food service hub, and Knoxville draws activity from manufacturing and industrial suppliers serving the broader East Tennessee region.
Are there remote territory sales manager jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, but they're limited, because territory sales management is fundamentally a field-based role that requires in-person customer visits and relationship building. About 65% of territory sales manager openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions typically involve inside sales responsibilities or account management handled by phone and video rather than true field coverage.
How can I get hired as a territory sales manager in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as an account representative, sales coordinator, or inside sales associate with a Tennessee-based distributor or manufacturer, then moving into a territory role after demonstrating quota attainment. Companies like Sysco and Cardinal Health run structured sales development programs in Tennessee that bring in candidates without prior field experience. A background in a customer-facing role, a relevant industry certification, or familiarity with the products being sold gives candidates a clear edge over those with no related exposure.
Where can I find and apply to territory sales manager jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to territory sales manager jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current Tennessee openings. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and preferred territory, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
