Sales Specialist Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales specialist job in Boston?
Focus your search on Boston's strongest hiring sectors: life sciences and medtech companies clustered in the Longwood Medical Area and Seaport, financial services firms in the Financial District, and enterprise software companies in Back Bay and Kendall Square. Candidates who can demonstrate familiarity with complex, consultative sales cycles stand out here, since Boston employers tend to hire for solution-selling roles over transactional ones.
Which companies hire sales specialists in Boston?
Boston sales specialist roles are posted by Audley Travel, Frank Darling, and Teva Pharmaceuticals and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Boston's employer mix skews heavily toward life sciences, healthcare technology, and financial services firms, so many openings come from companies with specialized products and longer sales cycles.
Are there remote sales specialist jobs in Boston?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role type. Inside sales and account management positions are more likely to be remote or hybrid, while field sales and territory-facing roles typically require on-site presence. About 74% of sales specialist openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the most flexibility concentrated in software and financial services roles.
How can I get a sales specialist job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is through a sales development representative or business development representative role, which many of the city's software and medtech companies use as a pipeline for full sales positions. Boston-area employers, particularly growth-stage companies in the Seaport and Kendall Square corridors, regularly hire entry-level candidates who can show strong communication skills, a science or business degree, and familiarity with CRM tools.
