Opportunity:
We're looking for a VP of Brand & Narrative Marketing — the Chief Storyteller and narrative steward of the Formlabs company and brand. You will define who we are, how our identity is expressed, and how that story is consistently carried into the world.
Your mission is to synthesize the essence of Formlabs, cultivate it internally, and connect us to the external currents that matter — earning long-term recognition, trust, and mindshare. This role owns the core narrative of how Formlabs explains its mission, products, and future to employees, customers, partners, press, and prospective investors.

Key Pillars of the Role
-
Executive Communications. You will shape and align how the CEO and leadership team communicate — internally and externally — so Formlabs presents a clear, confident, and consistent point of view. This means drafting CEO speeches, keynotes, presentations, and long-form strategy pieces; collaborating on company-level messaging; preparing leadership for high-stakes events and interviews; and developing internal communications that align the organization around a motivating vision.
-
Strategic PR & Global Communications. You will direct the global PR engine to earn disproportionate mindshare and establish Formlabs as the definitive voice in digital fabrication. You'll identify and manage Tier-1 media opportunities, manage the company narrative during complex or sensitive moments, and develop the communication strategy for key launches and milestones — ensuring a clear, consistent voice at every inflection point.
-
Overarching Brand Strategy & Architecture. You will define and govern the long-term structure and language of the Formlabs brand so every product and message fits within a unified global story. This includes maintaining naming systems, product families, and messaging frameworks; setting tone, voice, and narrative guidelines across all functional teams; and designing brand continuity that endures across market cycles and product generations.
-
Pre-IPO Narrative & Strategic Investor Relations. You will establish the narrative discipline required of a public-ready company. Working closely with Finance, you'll develop foundational investor and banker materials, script and execute high-impact narrative videos and roadshow content, and shape the narrative around revenue mix, product economics, and long-term direction.
-
Special Projects & the Zeitgeist. You will quarterback critical, high-visibility projects and tie Formlabs to real-world trends to maximize external mindshare — managing top-tier customer stories, monitoring manufacturing communities and maker culture, and identifying global shifts to leverage for owned and earned content.
What Success Looks Like:
You will translate the "digital vs. analog" fabrication shift into a dominant market narrative, solve complex communication challenges unique to hardware, and act as a high-bandwidth partner to the CEO — ensuring Formlabs speaks with one clear, authoritative voice.
You:
- 10+ years of experience in brand, narrative, or executive communications at a high-growth technology company
- Proven ability to take complex hardware/software concepts and turn them into a clear, compelling point of view
- Experience developing foundational narrative and materials required for institutional investors and public markets
- Are a talent magnet who can recruit and rally high-performing teams while managing complex, sensitive narrative moments
- Thrives in high-pressure environments with an uncompromising bar for creative and editorial quality
Our Perks & Benefits:
- Robust equity program to build future wealth through RSUs
- Comprehensive healthcare coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision)
- 401K matching and access to financial advisors
- Generous paid Parental Leave (up to 16 weeks)
- Tenure-based paid Sabbatical Leave (up to 6 weeks)
- Flexible Out of Office Plan – Take time when you need it
- Ample on-site parking & pre-tax commuter benefits
- Healthy on-site lunches, snacks, beverages, & treats
- Regular sponsored professional development opportunities
- Many opt-in culture events across our diverse community
- And of course… unlimited 3D prints
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
