Sales Account Manager Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales account manager in Massachusetts?
Most Massachusetts employers require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though relevant experience can substitute in some sectors. Sales account management carries no state-issued license or registration in Massachusetts. Candidates typically enter through inside sales or business development representative roles at technology, life sciences, or professional services firms, then move up as they build a client portfolio. Earning a certification such as the Certified Professional Sales Person credential strengthens candidacy for competitive positions.
How much do sales account managers make in Massachusetts?
Sales account managers in Massachusetts earn a median of about $191,200 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $100,510 for the lowest 10% to over $321,000 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales account managers in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring sales account managers in Massachusetts right now include T-Mobile, Arbella Insurance, and Uline, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Massachusetts's dense concentration of technology, biopharma, and financial services firms means active hiring is spread across both Boston-based headquarters and suburban office campuses along Route 128 and Interstate 495.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most sales account manager jobs?
Boston, North Attleboro, and Quincy have the most sales account manager openings in Massachusetts. Boston anchors demand through its financial services, technology, and healthcare headquarters, while Cambridge draws heavily from life sciences and biotech firms clustered near Kendall Square, and Waltham serves as a hub for software and medical device companies situated along the Route 128 corridor.
Are there remote sales account manager jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 64% of sales account manager openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves phone, video, and CRM-based activity rather than in-person client visits. Territory-based roles covering enterprise accounts or medical device clients are more likely to require on-site presence, while SaaS and inside sales positions offer the most remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a sales account manager in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a business development representative or inside sales associate role, which large Massachusetts employers in technology and life sciences such as HubSpot, Drift, and Veeva Systems use as structured pipelines into account management. Applying directly to these associate programs, building familiarity with a CRM platform, and earning a sales certification gives candidates without a quota history a concrete edge when competing for their first account management opening.
Where can I find and apply to sales account manager jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to sales account manager jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current Massachusetts openings across industries and experience levels. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to each one.
