VP Marketing Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a vp marketing in Texas?
Becoming a vp marketing in Texas follows a experience-driven path with no state-issued license or exam required for the role itself. Most candidates build toward it by earning a bachelor's degree in marketing or business, then advancing through manager and director roles within Texas's technology, energy, healthcare, or retail sectors. An MBA from a Texas institution like UT Austin McCombs or Rice Jones can accelerate the timeline, particularly for candidates targeting enterprise or publicly traded companies.
How much do VP marketings make in Texas?
VP marketings in Texas earn a median of about $147,880 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $81,820 for the lowest 10% to over $259,200 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire vp marketings in Texas?
Employers hiring vp marketings in Texas right now include JPMorganChase, Jobot, and Smith, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's density of corporate headquarters and regional hubs across technology, energy, and financial services means marketing leadership openings appear consistently throughout the year rather than clustering in seasonal hiring cycles.
Which Texas cities have the most vp marketing jobs?
Austin, Plano, and Dallas account for the largest share of vp marketing openings in Texas. Dallas draws the most listings overall because of its concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and large regional offices in financial services, telecom, and retail, while Austin's technology sector and Houston's energy and healthcare industries sustain strong and steady demand for senior marketing leadership.
Are there remote vp marketing jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most senior roles, since vp marketing work is largely strategic and communication-driven rather than location-dependent. About 38% of vp marketing openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly companies have accepted distributed leadership in this function. Strategy, brand, and digital performance responsibilities tend to transfer most cleanly to remote arrangements, while roles that require close coordination with in-house creative or sales teams more often call for a hybrid schedule.
How can I get hired as a vp marketing in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is earning a director-level title first, then pursuing a VP role at a growth-stage Texas company where the bar is slightly lower than at a large enterprise. Austin-based startups and Series B technology companies regularly hire first-time VPs from strong director backgrounds. Building a portfolio of measurable pipeline or revenue impact, obtaining a Google or HubSpot certification, and moving laterally from a senior manager role in demand generation or digital marketing are the moves that most often open the door.
Where can I find and apply to vp marketing jobs in Texas?
