JOB TITLE: Senior Vice President, Marketing
LOCATION: Ideal job location is in Columbus, Ohio
WHAT YOU WILL OWN:
Brand Strategy & Positioning
- Scale the Garage Beer brand — voice, identity, and positioning — across every consumer touchpoint, while protecting the Founder’s creative vision for the company.
- Develop the long-term brand strategy that keeps us distinct as we scale our messaging from digital to national retail.
- Champion the culture and community that makes Garage Beer more than just a beer.
- Plan and own all marketing campaigns, ensuring a seamless link between creative, digital and retail marketing.
Digital & Performance Marketing
- Build and scale the digital marketing engine: paid social, search, email, influencer, and affiliate.
- Drive profitable customer acquisition and retention across DTC channels.
- Establish the data infrastructure and analytics capability to make fast, evidence-based decisions.
- Own the e-commerce experience and conversion funnel end to end.
Retail & Shopper Marketing
- Develop strategy for retail expansion, working closely with Chief Revenue Officer and key distributor partners.
- Build the shopper marketing capability — from trade activation programs to in-store execution.
- Partner with key retail accounts to co-develop campaigns and increase shelf presence and velocity.
Communications & Partnerships
- Oversee PR and earned media strategy to drive brand awareness and cultural relevance.
- Manage agency and creative partner relationships, holding them to a high bar for output.
- Identify and manage influencer partners.
- Design, recruit, and develop a high-performing marketing team as the business scales.
- Build the processes, tools, and budget discipline necessary to scale while staying nimble.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Operations to ensure marketing is fully integrated with the business.
Budget & Analytics
- Manage & track budgets across all marketing functions.
- Set KPIs and track performance metrics (ROI).
EXPERIENCE:
- 8+ years of marketing leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role (VP or SVP level) at a fast-growth consumer goods or CPG company.
- Proven track record of building brands from early stage through national retail distribution.
- Deep expertise in digital and performance marketing — you have built and scaled DTC channels before.
- Hands-on experience navigating the transition from digitally native brand to retail, including trade marketing and shopper marketing.
- Experience building and leading marketing teams from scratch; you've hired great people and developed them.
- The ideal candidate has experience in beer / alcohol with a high-growth supplier, an understanding of the 3-tier system and experience creating retail-driven marketing programs.
