Job Title:
Content Marketing and Communications Specialist, Enrollment Management
Physical Location:
Kent Campus, kent, OH
Salary:
$52,232 - $53,790
Basic Function:
Create compelling multi-channel marketing and communication content that engages and builds relationships with a variety of target audiences to support the university's enrollment goals. Reports to Director, Marketing and Communications, Enrollment Management.
Examples of Duties:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Research, write and edit engaging content for communications channels, including but not limited to, email, SMS, web, social media, print and video.
- Work closely with the Director, Marketing and Communications, Enrollment Management to develop a robust editorial calendar for cross-platform content and share important stories and information with prospective students, current students and their parents that encourages enrollment at Kent State University.
- Strategize and adapt content for segmented audiences. Use the Customer Relationship Management (CRM), i.e., Slate, to target segmented audiences and hyper-personalize content through ad-hoc and automated CRM campaigns (i.e., email, SMS, etc.).
- Work closely with key stakeholders within the university's colleges, divisions and departments to develop communications that strategically target students and parents with specific interests.
- Coordinate with internal marketing and communications team to strategize and share content for the right channels, including email, web, social media and print publications.
- Build reports and analyze data to determine effectiveness. Share findings with key stakeholders.
- Update and enhance digital content including email campaigns, stories, photos, videos and other digital assets. Edit and proofread marketing communications.
- Manage and organize a library of all communication assets for the Division of Enrollment Management.
- Monitor peer and competitor marketing for communication trends, design concepts and creative approaches.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders within University Communications and Marketing (UCM) to share content.
- Interview and/or engage with students, alumni and parents to write related content for use across multiple platforms.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, English or a related field. At least two years full-time professional work experience in marketing, communications, admissions/enrollment management or writing.
Knowledge Of:
- Grammar, punctuation and spelling, including AP Style
- Email marketing platforms, i.e., Slate
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, i.e., Slate
- Web content systems, i.e., Drupal
Skill In:
- Creating compelling, short-form content for a diverse range of audiences through digital, print and/or multi-media platforms
- Project management
- Using CRM data to target, personalize and analyze communications
- Written, verbal and interpersonal communication
Ability To:
- Manage multiple projects on tight deadlines and changing priorities
- Work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Travel frequently on-campus and occasionally off-campus
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in admissions/enrollment management and/or experience with a CRM (i.e., Slate).

Working Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM, or otherwise discussed with your supervisor.
