Shield Funding is hiring one exceptional performance-marketing leader to take complete ownership of our paid advertising and customer-acquisition engine.
We are not looking for someone who simply manages campaigns, sends reports, and talks about impressions.
We are looking for a hands-on growth leader who knows how to turn advertising dollars into qualified business owners, completed applications, approvals, funded deals, and profitable revenue.
This person will own the entire acquisition funnel—from the first ad impression through the final funded transaction.
The opportunity
Shield Funding is an established business-financing company with a strong sales operation, substantial historical data, existing advertising accounts, and the resources to scale aggressively.
Your mission will be to build the most effective customer-acquisition system in our industry.
You will have the authority to:
- Develop and execute our strategy across Google, Meta, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
- Audit, restructure, and scale existing advertising accounts.
- Create new campaigns, offers, landing pages, funnels, and testing strategies.
- Determine how our advertising budget should be allocated across channels.
- Improve lead quality—not merely increase lead quantity.
- Connect advertising performance to Salesforce and actual funded revenue.
- Build the internal team, agency relationships, technology, and reporting infrastructure required to grow.
- Work directly with the CEO and senior sales leadership.
What you will own
You will be accountable for the complete paid-acquisition operation, including:
- Google Search, Performance Max, Display, YouTube, and retargeting.
- Meta and Facebook lead-generation and conversion campaigns.
- TikTok advertising and short-form creative testing.
- Landing-page strategy, conversion-rate optimization, and offer development.
- Ad copy, creative direction, audience development, and campaign structure.
- GA4, Google Tag Manager, call tracking, attribution, offline conversions, and CRM integration.
- Lead-quality analysis by campaign, keyword, audience, creative, and source.
- Budget planning, forecasting, testing, and scaling.
- Marketing-to-sales handoff, speed-to-lead, contact rates, and sales feedback.
- Recruitment and management of designers, media buyers, copywriters, developers, and outside specialists when necessary.
Success will not be measured by clicks or inexpensive leads.
It will be measured by:
- Cost per qualified opportunity.
- Cost per completed application.
- Cost per approval.
- Cost per funded deal.
- Revenue and gross profit by acquisition source.
- Lead-to-contact and contact-to-application rates.
- Sustainable growth without sacrificing lead quality.
Who we are looking for
The right candidate has:
- At least seven years of serious performance-marketing or customer-acquisition experience.
- Personally managed and optimized significant monthly advertising budgets.
- A documented history of scaling lead-generation campaigns while maintaining an acceptable customer-acquisition cost.
- Advanced knowledge of Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, conversion tracking, attribution, and landing-page optimization.
- Experience connecting advertising platforms to Salesforce or another major CRM.
- Experience importing offline sales and revenue data back into advertising platforms.
- Strong financial judgment and the ability to understand unit economics.
- The ability to diagnose whether a performance problem originates in the advertising, landing page, lead quality, contact strategy, sales process, or reporting.
- The confidence to make decisions, test quickly, eliminate losing campaigns, and scale winning campaigns.
- The ability to be both strategic and hands-on.
Experience in business financing, lending, insurance, legal services, solar, home services, or another competitive lead-generation industry is strongly preferred.
This position is not for you if:
- You primarily manage agencies instead of personally understanding the campaigns.
- Your reporting stops at impressions, clicks, and cost per lead.
- You have never been responsible for revenue or customer-acquisition cost.
- You rely entirely on platform representatives to determine strategy.
- You need several months before beginning meaningful testing.
- You cannot clearly explain which campaigns generated actual customers.
- You are looking to add Shield Funding as one of several side clients.
This is a full-time ownership position for someone who wants to build something substantial.
Compensation
We will offer a highly competitive six-figure compensation package consisting of:
- Strong base salary.
- Meaningful performance-based compensation.
- Significant upside tied to measurable, profitable growth.
We are prepared to pay exceptionally well for someone who can produce exceptional results.
How to apply
Do not send a generic cover letter.
Your application must include:
- Two examples of campaigns you personally managed, including:
- Industry.
- Advertising channel.
- Approximate monthly spend.
- Cost per lead or acquisition.
- Revenue or customer results.
- Your specific role.
- One example of a campaign you successfully scaled, explaining:
- Starting and ending monthly spend.
- What you changed.
- What happened to acquisition cost and lead quality.
- Your answer to this situation:
Advertising-generated leads increased by 40%, but funded deals declined. What are the first five things you would investigate?
- A brief outline of what you would evaluate during your first 30 days at Shield Funding.
Applications without specific performance numbers will not be considered. Confidential client and employer information may be redacted.
Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year

VP Marketing Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a vp marketing in New Jersey?
Becoming a vp marketing in New Jersey follows a progression through marketing management rather than a state-issued license or exam. Most candidates build toward the role through director or senior director positions at New Jersey's large pharmaceutical, financial services, or consumer goods companies. An MBA from a program like Rutgers Business School or Seton Hall's Stillman School of Business is a common differentiator, as is a portfolio demonstrating measurable revenue impact from campaigns you've led.
How much do VP marketings make in New Jersey?
VP marketings in New Jersey earn a median of about $180,040 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $126,760 for the lowest 10% to over $298,870 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire vp marketings in New Jersey?
Employers hiring vp marketings in New Jersey right now include JPMorganChase, Senteon, and Blackstone, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's dense concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters in sectors like life sciences and financial services means vp marketing roles here often carry global brand or product responsibility.
Which New Jersey cities have the most vp marketing jobs?
The cities with the most vp marketing openings in New Jersey are Jersey City, New Jersey, and Matawan. That distribution reflects the state's major corporate corridors: the Newark and Jersey City metro pulls in financial services and tech firms close to New York City, while Princeton and Parsippany serve as anchor markets for pharmaceutical headquarters and large consumer brands with deep roots in central and northern New Jersey.
Are there remote vp marketing jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than most senior leadership fields, because marketing strategy and digital oversight translate well to remote work. About 33% of vp marketing openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly companies have adopted flexible executive arrangements post-pandemic. The functions most commonly performed remotely are brand strategy, content oversight, and performance analytics, while in-person expectations tend to apply for product launches, agency reviews, and executive team meetings.
How can I get hired as a vp marketing in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a senior manager or director of marketing role at a mid-size New Jersey company and building measurable results before pursuing a vp title. New Jersey's pharmaceutical and consumer goods employers, including those in the Parsippany and Princeton corridors, regularly promote from within when candidates demonstrate strong pipeline ownership or brand growth. A Rutgers or Seton Hall MBA can accelerate that timeline, and digital marketing certifications paired with a campaign portfolio showing revenue attribution give candidates without a long title history a credible edge.
Where can I find and apply to vp marketing jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to vp marketing jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and target industry, and apply directly to each one.
