Sales Executive Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales executive in New Jersey?
Most sales executive roles in New Jersey require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a field related to the industry you are selling into, such as life sciences for pharma sales or finance for financial product sales. New Jersey does not require a general state sales license, but roles in insurance sales require a New Jersey Insurance Producer License issued through the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance. Building a strong record in inside sales or account management is the most common path into executive-level positions.
How much do sales executives make in New Jersey?
Sales executives in New Jersey earn a median of about $173,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $103,580 for the lowest 10% to over $308,630 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales executives in New Jersey?
Employers hiring sales executives in New Jersey right now include T-Mobile, Paychex, and Optimum, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's concentration of Fortune 500 pharmaceutical, financial services, and technology companies means demand for experienced sales professionals remains active throughout the year.
Which New Jersey cities have the most sales executive jobs?
Parsippany-Troy Hills, Jersey City, and New Jersey have the most sales executive openings in New Jersey. Newark drives volume through its financial services and technology sector employers, Princeton draws heavily from pharmaceutical and biotech companies headquartered along the Route 1 corridor, and Parsippany has become a hub for consumer goods and specialty sales roles tied to major corporate campuses in Morris County.
Are there remote sales executive jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than most fields, because sales executive work centered on phone, video, and digital outreach translates well to remote settings. About 53% of sales executive openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely employers have accepted flexible arrangements for this role. Inside sales and SaaS account executive positions tend to carry the highest rate of fully remote or hybrid options.
How can I get hired as a sales executive in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales representative or sales development representative role, which large New Jersey employers in pharma and technology use as a structured first step before promoting into field or executive positions. Companies like Johnson & Johnson and Cognizant run rotational or associate sales programs that accept candidates without direct sales experience. A degree in a relevant field, completion of a sales certification such as those offered through Rutgers Business School's professional development programs, or demonstrated performance in a customer-facing role significantly strengthens an application.
Where can I find and apply to sales executive jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to sales executive jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings, find the roles that match your experience and target industry, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
