Sales Executive Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales executive in Texas?
Most sales executive roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though demonstrated sales performance often carries equal weight with hiring managers. Texas does not require a state-issued license for most sales executive positions outside of specific regulated industries: real estate sales executives must hold an active Texas Real Estate Commission license, and insurance sales executives need a Texas Department of Insurance producer license. Building experience in account management or business development within a Texas industry sector, such as energy, technology, or healthcare, is the most common path to an executive-level role.
How much do sales executives make in Texas?
Sales executives in Texas earn a median of about $136,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $68,750 for the lowest 10% to over $268,450 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales executives in Texas?
Employers hiring sales executives in Texas right now include Ethos, Mantis Innovation, and SumUp, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major energy firms, and fast-growing technology companies in the Austin and Dallas corridors keeps demand for sales talent consistently strong across industries.
Which Texas cities have the most sales executive jobs?
Houston, Austin, and Dallas have the most sales executive openings in Texas. Houston leads due to its dominant energy, healthcare, and logistics sectors with a large base of enterprise accounts, Dallas draws heavy hiring from corporate headquarters and financial services firms concentrated in the Metroplex, and Austin's rapid technology and SaaS industry growth has made it one of the fastest-expanding markets for software and enterprise sales roles in the state.
Are there remote sales executive jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 67% of sales executive openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on phone, video, and digital outreach rather than in-person presence. Inside sales, SaaS account executive, and business development roles tied to technology companies tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while field sales and territory management positions typically require in-state travel.
How can I get hired as a sales executive in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a sales development representative or business development representative, roles that large Texas employers in technology and healthcare routinely hire for without requiring prior sales experience. Companies like Dell Technologies and Oracle run structured sales associate programs at their Texas offices that move new hires into quota-carrying roles within one to two years. Lateral moves from customer success, account coordination, or marketing roles at Texas-based firms are also a well-worn path. Earning a HubSpot, Salesforce, or industry-specific certification strengthens an application considerably when formal experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to sales executive jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to sales executive jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to each one without creating an account or signing up.
