Senior Clinical Project Manager Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior clinical project manager in Mississippi?
Most senior clinical project managers in Mississippi follow a path that starts with a bachelor's degree in nursing, biology, pharmacy, or a related health science, followed by several years in clinical research coordination or trial monitoring. Mississippi does not require a state-issued license specific to this role, but employers strongly prefer candidates holding national credentials such as the Certified Clinical Research Professional designation from the Society of Clinical Research Associates. Gaining experience at UMMC or a contract research organization operating in the Jackson metro is a common route to senior-level roles.
How much do senior clinical project managers make in Mississippi?
Senior clinical project managers in Mississippi earn a median of about $78,870 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,840 for the lowest 10% to over $140,140 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior clinical project managers in Mississippi?
Mississippi senior clinical project manager roles are posted by Baptist Memorial Health Care, HealthTrust Workforce Solutions, and University of Mississippi Medical Center and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Academic medical centers and contract research organizations tied to Gulf Coast pharmaceutical activity tend to post the most consistent openings throughout the year.
Which Mississippi cities have the most senior clinical project manager jobs?
Jackson, Flowood, and Ridgeland are the Mississippi cities with the most senior clinical project manager openings. Jackson leads because it is home to the University of Mississippi Medical Center and the state's largest concentration of managed care and health system employers, while the Gulf Coast cities benefit from proximity to contract research organizations and VA-affiliated medical facilities that maintain ongoing clinical programs.
Are there remote senior clinical project manager jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, and more than most clinical roles. About 20% of senior clinical project manager openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of protocol management, regulatory writing, and vendor oversight. The work that most commonly goes fully remote involves sponsor-side trial oversight, document management, and data review rather than on-site monitoring visits.
How can I get hired as a senior clinical project manager in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a clinical research coordinator at a Mississippi institution and building trial management experience from there. UMMC's research office and Singing River Health System regularly bring on coordinators without extensive prior experience, particularly for federally funded studies where training is built into the program structure. Moving from adjacent roles such as research nurse, regulatory specialist, or data manager is also a recognized path. Earning the CCRP credential early strengthens applications and signals commitment to the field before you have years of senior-level experience to point to.
Where can I find and apply to senior clinical project manager jobs in Mississippi?
You can find and apply to senior clinical project manager jobs in Mississippi on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and location, and apply directly to whichever positions fit your background.
