Senior Clinical Project Manager Jobs in North Dakota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior clinical project manager in North Dakota?
Most senior clinical project managers in North Dakota begin with a bachelor's degree in nursing, life sciences, or a health-related field, then build several years of experience in clinical research coordination or trial management. North Dakota does not require a state-issued license specific to this role, but employers consistently favor candidates holding the Project Management Professional credential from PMI or the Regulatory Affairs Certification from RAPS. Large health systems in Fargo and Bismarck typically promote internally from research coordinator or associate CRA roles.
How much do senior clinical project managers make in North Dakota?
Senior clinical project managers in North Dakota earn a median of about $96,160 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,300 for the lowest 10% to over $139,320 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior clinical project managers in North Dakota?
Employers hiring senior clinical project managers in North Dakota right now include Sanford Health, CommonSpirit Health, and Eventide, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Sanford Health's research division and Essentia Health remain anchor employers in this space, with demand shaped by their ongoing clinical trial programs and quality improvement initiatives.
Which North Dakota cities have the most senior clinical project manager jobs?
Fargo, Bismarck, and Minot account for the largest share of senior clinical project manager openings in North Dakota. Fargo leads due to the concentration of Sanford Health's corporate and research operations, while Bismarck's openings reflect state government health agencies and regional hospital system activity, and Grand Forks draws demand from University of North Dakota Health Sciences programs and affiliated research units.
Are there remote senior clinical project manager jobs in North Dakota?
Yes, and more than many clinical roles, because senior clinical project managers spend much of their time on documentation, vendor oversight, and cross-site coordination that can be done remotely. About 23% of senior clinical project manager openings tied to North Dakota are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader industry flexibility for experienced trial managers. Roles involving active site monitoring visits or local IRB engagement are more likely to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a senior clinical project manager in North Dakota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a clinical research coordinator role at a North Dakota health system, which provides direct exposure to trial operations and regulatory submissions. Sanford Health and Essentia Health both bring on research coordinators without senior-level experience and develop them internally. A Certified Clinical Research Coordinator credential from ACRP or SoCRA gives candidates a measurable edge. Lateral moves from roles like data manager, regulatory affairs associate, or quality assurance coordinator are also common stepping stones toward a senior project management position.
Where can I find and apply to senior clinical project manager jobs in North Dakota?
You can find and apply to senior clinical project manager jobs in North Dakota on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and preferred location, and apply directly to the ones that fit your background.
