If you want your work to matter at global scale, in a stack that's actively modernizing (including AI-led engineering), and on a team that values judgement as much as code - we'd like to meet you.
Work you'll do
As a Senior Software Engineer on our GlobalAdvantage (GA) platform, you'll own the design and delivery of the workflow and integration capabilities at the center of that transformation. This is a role for an engineer who's ready to move past executing tasks and into owning outcomes - someone who can navigate ambiguity, make sound technical calls without being told how, and raise the bar for people around them while still learning something new every week.
You'll own the technical delivery of workflow and integration features end to end - from design through deployment and production support - and help set the engineering standard across the platform. Your impact will be measured by delivery quality, speed of execution, and the business value you unlock. Day to day, you will:
- Design and build workflow and task management capabilities that power GES business processes - using Pega, .Net, C# and other technologies.
- Develop and support REST APIs, microservices, and integration services across internal and client-facing platforms.
- Own your modules and features - including technical design, effort estimation, unit testing, deployment support, and production issue resolution - and drive quality, maintainability, and reuse across the codebase.
- Contribute to and shape technical design decisions, code reviews, and engineering standards, exercising judgment on trade-offs rather than deferring them.
- Elevate the team by mentoring less experienced engineers, sharing context, and improving how the group builds - while staying open to learning from architects, quality engineers, and peers.
- Collaborate across functions with product managers, architects, technical program managers, engineering managers, quality engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Improve the platform continuously - performance tuning, application stability, supportability, and delivery practices.
A successful candidate would possess these skills:
- The ability to operate independently with minimal direction and be trusted with ownership of meaningful work
- South technical judgement in ambiguous situations - knowing when to decide, when to ask, and how to defend a trade-off
- A quality-first mindset and genuine attention to detail in what you ship
- The instinct to lift others up - mentoring, unblocking, and modeling good engineering
- Clear, effective written and verbal communication with both technical and business audiences
- The composure to prioritize and deliver across multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Senior Software Development Engineer Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior software development engineer in Georgia?
Senior software development engineers in Georgia do not require a state-issued license. The typical path is a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, followed by several years of progressively responsible development roles. Georgia employers, particularly in Atlanta's technology corridor, consistently prioritize candidates who can demonstrate system design depth, cloud platform experience, and a history of shipping production software at scale alongside foundational credentials.
How much do senior software development engineers make in Georgia?
Senior software development engineers in Georgia earn a median of about $131,010 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $80,110 for the lowest 10% to over $176,000 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior software development engineers in Georgia?
Employers hiring senior software development engineers in Georgia right now include The Home Depot, Speria, and Truist, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's concentration of financial technology firms, media and communications companies, and large enterprise software operations means senior engineering talent is in consistent demand across multiple established industries.
Which Georgia cities have the most senior software development engineer jobs?
Atlanta, Alpharetta, and Georgia have the most senior software development engineer openings in Georgia. Atlanta drives the largest share of hiring as the headquarters base for major fintech, media, and enterprise technology firms, while Alpharetta and Marietta attract significant openings through the dense concentration of Fortune 500 technology divisions and cybersecurity companies that have established offices along the northern suburban corridor.
Are there remote senior software development engineer jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 61% of senior software development engineer openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how naturally the role adapts to distributed work. Positions focused on cloud architecture, backend platform engineering, and SaaS product development tend to be the most consistently remote, while roles requiring hands-on infrastructure management or on-site team leadership are more likely to require in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a senior software development engineer in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a software engineer one or associate developer role first, then building toward seniority over several years. Large Georgia employers like Cox Enterprises, NCR Voyix, and Anthem run structured new-graduate and early-career programs that place candidates into engineering rotations without prior professional experience. Adjacent roles in QA engineering, DevOps support, or technical support engineering at Georgia technology firms also serve as common on-ramps. A strong portfolio of personal or open-source projects, along with a cloud certification, gives candidates with limited experience a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to senior software development engineer jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to senior software development engineer jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings updated regularly. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level, specialization, and preferred location or remote arrangement, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
