FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary: This position provides exemplary food and beverage service to club members and guests while upholding the department standards, organizational values and service excellence. This position reports to the assigned Restaurant Supervisor and Clubhouse Manager.
Major Responsibilities:
- Sets up and performs all side work assigned.
- Provides immediate service to all members/guests upon seating.
- Provides menus, assures water glasses are filled.
- Takes member and guest orders, places them with kitchen/bar; accuracy of special instructions.
- General knowledge of wine and wine service necessary.
- Serves meal, checks back to ensure ongoing satisfaction.
- Suggests and serves dessert, coffee, after dinner drinks.
- Verifies accuracy of prices, members’ signature and account number.
- Keeps tables and side station areas neat and clean at all times.
- Informs manager of any complaints as soon as they occur.
- Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager.
- Adheres to teamwork policy by assisting any co-worker in order to better serve members.
- Assists host stand with greeting and seating of member/guest.
Skills and Abilities:
- At least three years’ experience in other appropriate restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of fine dining, table-side service may be necessary.
Education/Training/Certificates/Licenses:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess or obtain a Florida Food Handlers’ License within 60 days of employment.
Working Conditions:
This position may serve indoors or outdoors, at any food outlet. May also serve at cater-outs in members’ homes. Must be able to stand and walk continuously for several hours at a time. Must have flexibility to bend, stoop, and reach overhead to obtain needed supplies. Must be able to lift trays of food, approx. 20 lbs. at a time. Hours and days fluctuate according to level of business.
