Server Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a server in Georgia?
To work as a server in Georgia, you need a valid Food Handler Card, which requires completing an accredited food safety course approved by the Georgia Department of Public Health. No state-issued server license beyond that is required. Most Georgia employers expect applicants to complete the card before their first shift, and many restaurants offer or reimburse the course cost for new hires.
Which companies hire servers in Georgia?
Companies currently hiring servers in Georgia include First Watch, Hyatt, and Highgate, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Georgia's strong convention and tourism economy, especially in Atlanta and Savannah, means hotel dining rooms, banquet operations, and full-service restaurant groups maintain some of the steadiest server pipelines in the Southeast.
Which Georgia cities have the most server jobs?
Atlanta, Marietta, and Savannah have the most server openings in Georgia. Atlanta drives the largest share given its scale as a major convention and corporate hospitality center, while Savannah's historic tourism industry and Augusta's steady medical and golf-event tourism keep demand solid in both those cities year-round.
Are there remote server jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they're rare. Serving is an in-person, hands-on role, so the vast majority of positions require physical presence on the floor. About 4% of server openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be training coordinator, guest experience, or wine education roles rather than traditional table-service positions.
How can I get hired as a server in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a food runner or host at a full-service restaurant, then moving into serving once you know the floor flow. Large Georgia hotel groups and restaurant chains regularly hire people without prior table-service experience for these support roles. Earning your Georgia Food Handler Card before applying gives you a concrete edge and shows hiring managers you're ready to work without delay.
Where can I find and apply to server jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to server jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find roles that match your availability and experience level, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
