Server Jobs in Oklahoma: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a server in Oklahoma?
To become a server in Oklahoma, you must complete responsible beverage service training and obtain certification through the Oklahoma Alcoholic Beverage Laws Enforcement (ABLE) Commission before serving alcohol. No formal education degree is required, but most employers expect on-the-job experience or completion of a food handler safety course. Many Oklahoma restaurants and casino resorts hire candidates without prior experience and provide hands-on training during an onboarding period.
Which companies hire servers in Oklahoma?
Employers hiring servers in Oklahoma right now include Traditions Hospitality, Texas Roadhouse, and Legend Senior Living, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Oklahoma's large casino resort properties and full-service hotel dining rooms consistently represent a significant share of server openings across the state.
Which Oklahoma cities have the most server jobs?
Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Thackerville have the most server openings in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City leads due to its large concentration of full-service restaurants, entertainment districts, and convention hotels, while Tulsa's casino resorts and revitalized downtown dining scene drive strong demand there, and Lawton's military-connected population and regional dining establishments support steady openings in that market.
Are there remote server jobs in Oklahoma?
Yes, but they're rare. Server work is fundamentally an in-person, guest-facing role, so the vast majority of positions require physical presence on the floor. About 0% of server openings tied to Oklahoma are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those listings typically cover back-of-house coordination, catering sales support, or training and quality-assurance roles rather than traditional table service.
How can I get hired as a server in Oklahoma with little or no experience?
The most realistic starting point is applying to high-volume casual dining chains and casino buffet operations, which regularly hire entry-level servers and provide paid on-the-job training. Large Oklahoma casino resorts such as WinStar and Riverwind run structured new-hire programs that move candidates from food runner or busser roles into full server positions. Completing your ABLE Commission alcohol-service certification before applying gives you a concrete edge over other entry-level candidates.
Where can I find and apply to server jobs in Oklahoma?
