Service Advisor Jobs in Oklahoma: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a service advisor in Oklahoma?
Most service advisor positions in Oklahoma are filled through on-the-job experience rather than a state-issued license, since Oklahoma does not require a specific state registration to work in this role. The most common path is starting as a service porter or lot attendant at an Oklahoma dealership, moving into a service writer role, and building product knowledge while completing ASE Service Consultant certification. Some community colleges in Oklahoma, including Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology, offer automotive technology programs that dealerships treat favorably when hiring.
Which companies hire service advisors in Oklahoma?
Employers hiring service advisors in Oklahoma right now include Brakes Plus, Love’s Travel Stops, and SSM Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Oklahoma's large franchised dealership groups and regional fleet service operations tend to post the most consistent openings across the state.
Which Oklahoma cities have the most service advisor jobs?
Oklahoma City, Yukon, and Ada have the most service advisor openings in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City leads because of its dense concentration of franchised dealerships and fleet operators along the I-35 and I-240 corridors, while Tulsa's manufacturing and energy sector supports a strong commercial fleet service market, and smaller metros like Lawton and Edmond generate steady retail automotive volume from military personnel and suburban growth.
Are there remote service advisor jobs in Oklahoma?
Yes, but they're rare. Service advising is a customer-facing, shop-floor role that typically requires physical presence at a dealership or fleet facility. About 20% of service advisor openings tied to Oklahoma are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions generally involve administrative warranty processing or telephone-based service coordination rather than in-bay customer interaction.
How can I get hired as a service advisor in Oklahoma with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a service porter, lot technician, or parts counter associate role at one of Oklahoma's large franchised dealership groups, such as Bob Moore Auto Group or David Stanley Automotive, both of which regularly promote internally into service writer seats. Completing ASE entry-level certification while in that role signals seriousness to hiring managers. Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology's automotive programs can also provide a credential that offsets a thin work history when applying directly to service advisor openings.
Where can I find and apply to service advisor jobs in Oklahoma?
You can find and apply to service advisor jobs in Oklahoma on Migrate Mate, which lists current Oklahoma openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find the roles that match your experience and location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
