Who's Hiring

Service Technician Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a service technician job in Washington?
Washington's strongest demand for service technicians runs through federal property management, hospital systems, and commercial real estate around downtown and the Southwest Waterfront. Candidates with certifications in HVAC, electrical systems, or building automation stand out here. Targeting contractors that hold federal facility maintenance contracts, and applying directly to large healthcare networks and property management firms, gives you a concrete edge in this market.
Which companies hire service technicians in Washington?
Companies currently hiring service technicians in Washington include AHU Technologies, NCR, and Xerox, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Washington's employer mix leans heavily toward federal building contractors, healthcare networks, and commercial property management firms operating across the District's dense office and mixed-use corridors.
Are there remote service technician jobs in Washington?
Yes, though remote work is limited for service technicians since most roles require hands-on equipment access and on-site response. About 50% of service technician openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, which typically reflects roles with a diagnostic, technical support, or field coordination component rather than direct installation or repair work.
How can I get a service technician job in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Washington is apprenticeship through union programs affiliated with building trades operating across the District, which place candidates directly with federal contractors and commercial property managers. Entry-level facilities assistant and maintenance helper roles at Washington's large hospital campuses and GSA-contracted office buildings regularly lead to full service technician positions without requiring prior experience.
