Who's Hiring

Service Technician Jobs in Columbus: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a service technician job in Columbus?
Focus on the sectors driving the most Columbus hiring: HVAC and mechanical systems, commercial food service equipment, and medical device maintenance tied to the city's large healthcare campuses. Employers in the Polaris and Easton corridors, along with industrial employers on the west and southwest sides, post frequently. Candidates with EPA 608 certification, a clean driving record, and documented hands-on repair experience stand out in this market.
Which companies hire service technicians in Columbus?
Columbus service technician roles are posted by NCR, Munters, and NCR Atleos and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The local market includes a mix of national service contractors, regional distributors, and Columbus-based healthcare and manufacturing operations, all of which maintain in-house or contracted field service teams.
Are there remote service technician jobs in Columbus?
Yes, but only for a narrow slice of the role. About 75% of service technician openings tied to Columbus are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how hands-on most positions are. Remote work tends to apply to technical support specialists or warranty documentation roles rather than field or bench repair positions.
How can I get a service technician job in Columbus with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Columbus is through a helper or apprentice role with an HVAC, electrical, or commercial equipment service company. Employers in the industrial corridors on the west side and large facilities management contractors serving Columbus's healthcare and university campuses regularly hire entry-level candidates willing to train on the job. Completing a trade program at Columbus State Community College and earning a basic EPA or CompTIA certification before applying meaningfully improves your odds.
